Thomas Massie’s emotional Kentucky Primary night draws cheers, supporters, and America First energy

Massie had been one of Trump’s most prominent Republican critics in Congress, clashing with the president over the Iran war, the Epstein files and the landmark “Big Beautiful” fiscal legislation

The Kentucky vote was closely watched as a test of whether Trump’s hold on Republican voters remained firm despite concerns over his war on Iran, growing inflation and declining personal approval ratings

Massie had called the race a "referendum" on whether his constituents want a candidate who is willing to stand up to the president when they disagree and vote principles over party.

Massie has not backed down in the face of Trump’s assaults, however. “They’ve tried to turn me into a villain. The more they try to punish me, the more powerful I get,” he said at an election event on Monday.

In his brief victory speech, Gallrein thanked the President for his support and endorsement, adding: “My focus is on advancing the President’s and the party's agenda to put America first and Kentucky always.”
