The U.S. Marine Band, famously known as “The President’s Own,” supplied the soundtrack as Washington prepared for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. Newly released military photographs show the musicians performing beneath a giant American flag near the racecourse. According to the Marine Corps, the band opened the event with a patriotic program that included presidential honors for Donald Trump, before joining acclaimed tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz for a performance of “God Bless America.” Multiple military ensembles also performed ahead of the race, adding to an opening ceremony heavy on patriotic pageantry.

The Marine Band later occupied a prime position overlooking the circuit, with musicians in their distinctive red uniforms playing as crowds packed the course below. The military described the day as combining the roar of twin-turbocharged engines with music from “The President’s Own,” pre-race performances by several military ensembles and seven flyovers.

Rather than watching the action only from the VIP stands, Trump and Melania ventured onto the grid before the race began. Trump was seen talking with a group of drivers while Melania stood close behind him amid a large security and media presence.

Melania Trump was photographed stepping from the presidential vehicle after arriving at the circuit with her husband. The first lady opted for a crisp white button-down shirt with dramatic striped cuffs, pairing it with wide-leg dark trousers and a slim belt.

The action eventually shifted from the racetrack to the skies above Washington, where a presidential aircraft swept over the capital, accompanied by military jets framed against billowing clouds with the US Capitol below.
