Trump and Melania share playful moments with trick-or-treaters at White House Halloween celebration

Trump and Melania appeared together outside the White House, where festive decorations created a seasonal backdrop for the annual trick-or-treat celebration. The first lady joined the president in welcoming families and distributing candy to children dressed in an assortment of costumes.

The young visitors brought plenty of personality to the celebration, arriving in costumes ranging from traditional Halloween characters to imaginative outfits inspired by popular culture and public service. Trump and Melania greeted the children individually, creating opportunities for candid exchanges and amusing reactions. The variety of costumes made the gathering as much a showcase of children's creativity as a presidential holiday tradition.

The evening brought another unexpected moment when Trump stopped to sign a paper presented by a young visitor. With Melania standing nearby, the president took time to add his signature before continuing to greet families. The interaction was one of several personal exchanges during the celebration, as children had the opportunity to meet the presidential couple up close.

Melania skipped a Halloween costume in favor of a sophisticated seasonal look. The first lady wore a chocolate-brown suede wrap coat by Nour Hammour, featuring a wide collar and a belt that cinched the waist. She paired the coat with brown snakeskin-embossed Manolo Blahnik heels and styled her blonde hair in loose waves.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump shared a lighthearted moment with families during the White House Halloween celebration on October 29, 2026. Trump smiled and raised his hand toward a young visitor wearing a bright red cowboy hat, while Melania stood beside him holding a basket of treats. The first lady appeared equally delighted by the encounter, smiling as another guest held a baby dressed in a colorful green costume.

The South Portico was transformed with pumpkins, autumn foliage and a glowing red harvest moon decorated with bat silhouettes. The US Air Force Strolling Strings provided the soundtrack, performing Halloween favorites and other music as guests made their way through the celebration. Trump briefly danced to the theme from 'Ghostbusters,' adding another playful moment to the evening. The couple also remained outside a little longer to enjoy the music as the festivities drew to a close.
