Gavin Newsom trolls Trump over Epstein with Coldplay concert kiss cam meme: 'Lights will guide you home'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet erupted in a frenzy of wild gossip and memes after kiss cam footage from a Coldplay concert went viral, showing Astronomer CEO Andy Byron cuddling with his HR chief, Kristin Cabot, before a sea of attendees.
Amid the internet-breaking scandal, California Governor Gavin Newsom couldn’t resist joining the frenzy, seizing the viral moment to take a jibe at President Donald Trump over the infamous Jeffrey Epstein drama.

Gavin Newsom trolls Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein meme
The 57-year-old Democratic leader took to X on Saturday, July 19, to share a meme based on the dramatic kiss cam footage from the packed Coldplay concert at Boston’s Gillette Stadium.

However, the meme packed a devilishly cheeky twist that made it impossible to scroll past. Swapping out Byron and Cabot, Newsom’s post featured a grinning Epstein with his arm draped around an equally happy Trump.
“Lights will guide you home... unless you’re on the flight log,” the post caption read. “Lights will guide you home” are lyrics to the Coldplay tune 'Fix You,' which surfaced in a statement falsely attributed to Byron.
Meanwhile, the flight log likely referred to the disgraced financier’s private jet.
Over the past few years, Trump and Newsom have been trading brutal blows, with the California governor launching new scathing attacks over a Justice Department memo, which confirmed that Epstein indeed killed himself and did not maintain a “client list” to blackmail the elite.

Newsom recently shared a screenshot of a 2019 Washington Post article about a sketch that Trump had once made of the Manhattan skyline in response to the president’s claims that he never “wrote a picture” in his life.
Trump made the argument as he fiercely railed against a Wall Street Journal report, which claimed that he sent a bawdy birthday letter to Epstein with a drawing of a naked girl.

Gavin Newsom sues Donald Trump over cancellation of funding for high-speed rail
Gavin Newsom’s new meme attack came as he announced a lawsuit against the Donald Trump administration following the cancellation of more than $4 billion in federal funds for the state’s high-speed rail project.
"Trump’s termination of federal grants for California high-speed rail reeks of politics. It’s yet another political stunt to punish California," Newsom stated in a news release. "In reality, this is just a heartless attack on the Central Valley that will put real jobs and livelihoods on the line. We’re suing to stop Trump from derailing America’s only high-speed rail actively under construction," the statement continued.
The lawsuit says the cancellation of funding was based on “petty, political retribution,” targeting California due to Trump’s hostility toward the state.
While the lawsuit calls the move “petty, political retribution,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy defended the decision to pull $4 billion in unused federal funds, pointing to 16 years of delays, no finished high-speed rail, and rising costs.
Duffy declared the project, dubbed the "train to nowhere," a mismanaged and over-budget "boondoggle."
"This is California’s fault. Governor Newsom and the complicit Democrats have enabled this waste for years. Federal dollars are not a blank check – they come with a promise to deliver results," Duffy said in a statement.
