Gigi Hadid says she ‘never had any affiliation’ with Epstein: ‘Disturbing to be named in files’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gigi Hadid has finally addressed her mention in the Jeffrey Epstein case. The supermodel reacted after documents connected to Epstein, released by the Department of Justice (DOJ), included her name and that of Bella Hadid.
She said the entire situation makes her feel deeply uncomfortable and 'sick', adding that she prefers not to be involved in the matter.
After a follower questioned her silence, Gigi explained her stance publicly. Her response came when a social media user commented on her March 29 post, prompting her to clarify why she chose to stay away from the issue.
Gigi Hadid breaks silence on Epstein files mention
It starts with the files, which include a 2015 email exchange in which a redacted individual questioned how Gigi and her sister Bella found success in modeling.
The person wrote, “How did the Hadid sisters became models and make so much money?! I don’t understand...” Epstein responded, “You know,” and when the individual replied, “The father paid the agency,” he answered, “No.” He later added, “Because they follow directions, it's that simple.”
Now, Gigi addressed the issue after one of her followers commented on her March 29 Instagram post, saying they “had to unfollow” her because she “ain’t talk bout those files.” She replied the next day, explaining how the situation made her feel.
She wrote that the documents “made me sick to my stomach,” adding, “Horrible to read someone you’ve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context.” Gigi also clarified why she hadn’t spoken earlier.
“I didn’t comment bc I don’t want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe it's not clear, and it’s important to let you know.”
She ended by making her stance clear: “To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email, is disturbing,” she said, adding, “and I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being.”
DOJ finds no grounds for new Epstein charges
The Epstein-related documents were made public after Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, requiring the DOJ to release all records connected to the case.
Epstein died in prison about a month after his 2019 arrest under disputed circumstances. Ghislaine Maxwell was later convicted in 2021 on multiple charges and is currently serving a 20-year sentence.
Since the files were released in 2025 and 2026, there have been no new arrests in the United States tied to the case. However, the disclosures have led to resignations and damaged reputations for several prominent individuals.
Officials from the DOJ said they did not find evidence strong enough to bring additional charges related to Epstein. They added that the public can review the released documents and form their own conclusions, as reported by NPR News.
