NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Saturday, March 23, President Joe Biden, alongside former President Barack Obama and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, commemorated the 14th anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act. This legislation is widely regarded as a landmark in healthcare reform in the United States.

The current officeholder also recounted their exchange with Dr Tyra Bryant-Stephens from Pennsylvania on X (formerly Twitter), where he addressed her inquiry regarding the significance of healthcare in the upcoming election.

Joe Biden's tweet

From his personal social media account, Biden posted a clip that opened with Dr Bryant-Stephens questioning him about the importance of healthcare in the context of the 2024 election.

Biden began his response by thanking her for her service, and proceeded to state, "This election is about two different visions of America, it's as basic as that."

"My vision, our vision about the future, where folks have the freedom and security of affordable health care, lower prescription drug costs, and just a little more breathing room, as my dad would say."

"And because you organized, you mobilized, and you voted in 2020 - we saved millions of Americans who are on ACA $800 a year on premiums. We have the lowest uninsured rate ever in America today," he continued.

"Now Trump keeps telling us he's going to terminate the ACA. Think about what that means - it would mean 100 million Americans with pre-existing conditions would lose their health care coverage. It would mean young people would be kicked off their parent's coverage. Tens and millions of Americans would lose health care coverage as a consequence of all of that."

Biden kept attacking his opponent, remarking, "He wants to get rid of the power of Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, driving up the cost of insulin back to $400 instead of $35 for seniors."

"And Trump recently said Social Security and Medicare, 'there's a lot you can do in terms of cutting.' Right on cue, 180 House Republicans just proposed a budget that would raise the Social Security age, and retirement age, and slash Medicare. I have a better idea: I'll protect Social Security and Medicare," he added.

Along with the clip, Biden wrote in his post, "Health care is at stake this November."

Internet reacts to Joe Biden's tweet

"Joe Biden is lying. Obamacare isn’t affordable. Premiums have been skyrocketing every year. And everything costs a lot more now because of Bideninflation. The only way to make healthcare affordable again is to repeal Obamacare and legally replace the Biden administration," wrote a user.

"Democracy is on the line… Vote Trump 2024 to save America!" stated another user.

"Healthcare has been unaffordable for a long time. Groceries have been unaffordable for 2 years," jibed a user.

"Health care has been on the decline. Like everything else, Joe. Go close the border!" commented another user.

"Our savings accounts are at stake this November. AMERICA CANNOT AFFORD YOU!" slammed a user.
