WASHINGTON, DC: The GOP found itself in the digital hot seat after sharing a poorly photoshopped image to celebrate Vice President JD Vance’s 41st birthday on Friday, August 2.

What was meant to be a cheerful tribute quickly turned into an internet spectacle, as eagle-eyed social media users spotted glaring editing flaws within moments.

From distorted proportions to awkward layering, the post became a textbook example of Photoshop gone wrong, and users wasted no time calling it out.

GOP shares birthday post for JD Vance with glaring Photoshop errors

On August 2, the GOP posted an official birthday message on X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate Vice President JD Vance’s 41st birthday.

The image showed Vance smiling and waving as he appeared to step up to a podium, while several hands clapped on the right side of the image, seemingly in celebration. To the left, a large vertical banner read, “Happy Birthday Vice President JD Vance.”

But it wasn’t the message that caught attention, it was the editing. Social media users quickly noticed glaring Photoshop errors, Vance’s waist looked unnaturally slimmed, his thumb appeared to be missing, his arm seemed dislocated, and the starry background looked poorly layered.

Adding to the awkwardness, Vance’s shoulder overlapped the "Y" in “Birthday,” giving the entire image a clumsy, artificial feel.

Internet erupts over GOP's poorly photoshopped birthday post for JD Vance

The birthday post for JD Vance sparked immediate reactions online, with many mocking the visual mistakes and questioning the intent behind the edits.

One user noticed, "The photoshop you guys did to his face and then to make his waste smaller is hilarious. LMFAO so embarrassing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣."

Another remarked, "@JDVance is not that snatched! What in the Ozempic Photoshop is this?"

A person questioned, "What happens to his left (on the right) thumb? All from GOP and this administration is pure fake."

A user mocked, "He should see a doctor about that broken arm he has."

"And why would they not see they cut off his thumb?" read another twee.

A user shared a GIF saying, "How Embarrassing," along with the caption, "They stole his thumb too."

Another user said, "Very sloppy work. They removed a large chunk of his upper arm."

"WTH happened to his right shoulder and upper arm?🤣 And it’s not from the text🤣," one more pointed out.

"And they didn't even bother to 'fix' the too tight, popping button on his jacket! 😄," another netizen joked.

JD Vance opens up about his 30-pound weight loss

Vice President JD Vance has set the record straight about his dramatic weight loss, and he says it's all thanks to old-fashioned hard work. In an interview with The Daily Mail last summer, Vance revealed he dropped 30 pounds through disciplined dieting and exercise, not weight loss drugs.

"I haven't taken any drugs. Obviously, you eat a little bit less, but it's also just eating better," he said in August 2024 while on the campaign trail. Vance explained that his health journey began after he noticed himself becoming winded while playing with his children following his Senate win, a wake-up call that pushed him to take fitness seriously.

He ditched his heavy breakfasts, often three waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and began skipping morning meals altogether. Along with diet changes, Vance incorporated running and regular gym sessions into his routine, proving that commitment, not shortcuts, drove his transformation.
