Goldie Hawn says 'ugly and hurtful' divorce memories kept her from marrying 41-year partner Kurt Russell
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The love story of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell - who just turned 73 on March 17 - has inspired awe for the last four decades.
The two veteran stars who, though dated for the last 41 years, have never married! In December, though the couple sparked rumor of drifting apart, the evergreen couple is growing stronger even now.
Hawn, 77, recently appeared on the ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard’ where she unveiled the secrets of her successful 40-plus year-long romance and the reasons behind it.

Appearing on the podcast earlier in March, Hawn opened up about the intricacies of her relationship and what kept it strong for all these years.
The ‘Overboard’ star shared, "People fuse, and fusion is very bad," before detailing the problematic aspects of marriage, "Once you start losing yourself, engaged in someone else's everything, become too dependent…then there's a loss of respect, there's expectation, and then a lot of people actually shift mentally when they feel tied up."
When asked about her reason for not tying the knot with her long-term partner after first started dating on Valentine’s Day in 1983, the veteran actress blamed 'ugly and hurtful' divorces, per The Mirror.
Hawn was married twice before her relationship with Russell. She as first married to actor Gus Trikonis in 1969. The pair divorced in 1976.
In the same year, she married Bill Hudson, with whom she welcomed two children - Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson. This marriage was dissolved in 1982.
During the interview, when the thespian was asked specifically about her decision to not marry, she responded by counter-questioning, "Why should we get married? Isn't that a better question?"
He then went on to explain that since both of them had seen the pitfalls of marriage after going through bitter divorces, they chose not to marry.
Hawn explained, "We have been married and because when it doesn't work out it ends up to be big business. Somebody has to own something, it's always ugly."
Kurt was previously married actress Season Hubley from 1979 until 1983. The former couple welcomed their son Boston Russell together.

Not only Hawn gushed about their relationship but her loving partner too shared his views about her. During a recent interview with Esquire per Fox News, Rusell was asked about the secret of his successful partnership with Hawn.
He replied, "You get with Goldie Hawn, you got a good chance," before adding, "If you’re lucky enough to get with Goldie Hawn, it’s just however long she can put up with you."
Calling the actress "the whole package," he gushed, "Women adore Goldie, men love Goldie." He concluded, "And if you don’t, there’s something wrong with you."
