WASHINGTON, DC: At a heated House Rules Committee meeting, Rep Ralph Norman (R-SC) slammed Rep Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) who interrupted to correct him about Donald Trump's criminal conviction.

On May 30, a Manhattan jury found the former president guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the hush money case, prompting Democrats to highlight the Republican presidential nominee's status as a convicted felon and his ongoing legal battles.

GOP Rep Ralph Norman calls Democratic Rep Jerrold Nadler 'rude' amid House Rules Committee meeting

During the Tuesday, June 11 meeting, Rep Norman remarked, "Listening to these smokescreens that my friends on the other side of the aisle are saying, they bring up the trial of Donald Trump, convicted felon. Really? By a judge that is a known anti-Trumper?" Nadler interrupted to say, "A jury, a jury. Not by a judge," as per Mediaite

Norman, visibly agitated, asserted his position, stating, "Mr. Nadler, I’ve got the floor! If you gonna interrupt – Mr. Chairman, calm him down when he interrupts. It’s my time and I’ll let you respond, but I’m tired of this. You talk over everybody. It’s so rude of you!"

The hush money trial was presided over by Judge Juan Merchan, drawing criticism from Republicans due to his political donations of $35 to Democrats in 2020, including $15 to President Joe Biden’s campaign, as well as his daughter's affiliation with Democratic clients.

As Nadler noted during the meeting, a jury of the 12-member jury found Trump guilty on the 34 felony counts and not Judge Merchan.

Norman then shifted his focus to President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, who was found guilty of federal gun charges on Tuesday. The GOP congressman said he found it strange that Hunter was prosecuted on the gun charges, but not his overseas business dealings, which Republicans have long accused of being illegal.

One wrote, "The GOP don't want the truth to be on the record. They want to keep spreading their lies," and another said, "#Republicans find the truth so rude, as it corrects their lies."

"Jury convicted, not the judge," reiterated a person, while someone else added, "Sounds really good. He’s still convicted."
