Hunter Biden says he's 'more grateful' than disappointed after his gun crime trial conviction

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Hunter Biden has reacted after the jury of twelve Delawares found him guilty of three felony gun charges on Tuesday, June 11.

The jury deliberated for one hour yesterday and two hours today before reaching a verdict.

Hunter was accused of being addicted to crack when he bought the firearm from the Wilmington, Delaware, gun shop in October 2018 and lied on the federal form.

Two counts carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, while the third has a maximum of five years. Each count also carries a maximum fine of $250,000.

For now, no sentencing date has been set as the court adjourned soon after the guilty verdict was read. Notably, First Lady Jill Biden missed the reading of the verdict. She re-entered the courthouse minutes after the verdict was read. 

In a statement reacting to the verdict, Hunter said, “I am more grateful today for the love and support I experienced this last week from Melissa, my family, my friends, and my community than I am disappointed by the outcome," NBC News reported.

"Recovery is possible by the grace of God, and I am blessed to experience that gift one day at a time," he added as per his lawyer.

Hunter Biden's defense attorney Abbe Lowell is disappointed but respects the jury process

His lawyer Abbe Lowell said the first son's defense team was "naturally disappointed" by the outcome of the federal firearm trial.

"We respect the jury process, and as we have done throughout this case, we will continue to vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available to Hunter," Lowell said.

"Through all he has been through in his recovery, including this trial, Hunter has felt grateful for and blessed by the love and support of his family,” he said as per the report.

Joe Biden reiterated he will not pardon his son Hunter Biden

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has reiterated his statement about not pardoning Hunter while maintaining his support for him as a son. 

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad," President Biden stated after the verdict was delivered. "Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today."

“So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery," he added.

 “As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal,” he added.

“Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that," the statement concluded.

Internet believes Hunter Biden's conviction is a 'fix' to improve DOJ's public image

Former POTUS Donald Trump supporters continued to lash out at Hunter, 52, disbelieving his words that he was not disappointed because they suspect there is a "fix."

"Those are words of a man that knows the fix is in and he will never see the inside of a jail. His record will be expunged before Jan 19th," wrote one on X (formerly Twitter).

One claimed it was an eyewash to make appear DOJ was just. "We all know he won't spend a day behind bars, this is just a media play from the Biden Admin to pretend the DOJ is actually fair."

One more expressed, "...and pardon is possible by the grace of Dad." One more mocked saying, "By the grace of, *snort*, god."

One X user expressed surprise at the guilty verdict saying, "I'm not going to lie, I didn't expect a guilty verdict on the Hunter Biden trial."

"My heart truly breaks for them, I get it no one above the law. Yet I have never heard of this charge on anyone but Hunter Biden," penned another individual. "Perhaps now we need to open up more investigations on the rest of public. I am sure there are many (MAGA) that are guilty of this as well," the user added.
