LANSING, MICHIGAN: Gretchen Whitmer has been labeled “cringe” and “the worst governor” after a video shared on her official X page showed her speaking about “hot infrastructure summer".

The caption of the post read, “#HotInfrastructureSummer is here, and everyone knows that strong, reliable infrastructure is real hot girl s**t 🔥,” while the governor can be heard saying, “Michigan, we’re turning up the heat with some serious infrastructure projects.”

Gretchen Whitmer promises ‘smoother roads and stronger bridges’

As reported by The MidWesterner, she continued over Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Body’ beat in the video, “This season we’re taking our commitment to fixing the damn roads, pipes, bridges, and everything in between to the next level.

“We’re rolling up our sleeves and continuing our work on critical infrastructure that keeps our state moving. From smoother roads to stronger bridges to clean reliable water systems, we’re bringing the heat and making sure Michigan’s infrastructure is built to last.”

Gretchen Whitmer’s record says another story

However, The New York Post reported that despite Whitmer’s earlier promise to “fix the damn roads”, very little progress has happened.

Also, the MidWesterner citing a report by the Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council which stated that “without additional and consistent long-term investment, the percentage of roads in poor condition will continue to increase as the increasing construction cost outpaces the ability to fix them".

Many people have expressed frustration with the 52-year-old politician as an X user tweeted, “This is the purest distillation of cringe I’ve ever seen on this app — and that’s saying something.”

Another user just said, “Cringe.”

“You know who can’t enjoy this summer? The elderly you killed during COVID. Resign,” the third one shared.

The fourth user stated, “This is cringy AF. You're nearly 55. Stop trying to act like some hip Gen-Zer.”

“Trying to be Ron DeSantis, except DeSantis always names specific projects and always appears after the projects have gotten started or have been completed. Whitmer didn’t name a single specific project. All generalities,” the fifth user added.

An individual commenting below The Post article said, “Whitmer is the worst governor in the country. What she did with the COVID lockdowns in Michigan should never be forgotten. She is drunk with power and has no regard for anybody's civil rights unless it fits her narrative.”

Another individual remarked, “The female version of Gavin Newsom. Please no!”

“Does it get any more cringe? You’re a governor, not a sorority girl. Just embarrassing. This is what passes for ‘leadership’ in 2024,” a comment read.
