WASHINGTON, DC: The sight of President Donald Trump theatrically “buying” a Tesla from Elon Musk outside the White House stunned reporters.

Was it just a symbolic show of support, or was there something deeper at play? According to hacker group Anonymous, the entire scene may have been triggered by Musk’s emotional breakdown in the Oval Office.

On Tuesday, Trump stood outside the White House and made his grand declaration, claiming he was purchasing a Tesla to push back against boycotts and negative media surrounding Musk’s company. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump framed the move as a stand against the so-called “Radical Left Lunatics.”

“Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for. They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out?" Trump wrote.

He declared, “In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American.”

The performance seemed calculated, but Anonymous soon stirred the pot, alleging there was more to the story. The group tweeted, “So it turns out Musk was audibly sobbing at the Oval Office, which may have triggered the bizarre Tesla Whitehouse promo.”

Although there is no concrete evidence to support Anonymous’ assertion, Musk’s recent public appearances have hinted at mounting stress.

In one interview, where he appeared on the verge of tears, he candidly discussed the challenges of managing his companies while working with the government.

“I’m just trying to improve efficiency, cut down on waste and fraud, and so far, we’re making progress,” he remarked with a heavy sigh.

Trump’s announcement had an immediate impact. Shortly after the press conference, Tesla’s stock climbed nearly 4%, recovering slightly from its steep 48% decline since Trump assumed office. Later, during a business roundtable, Trump defended Musk, asserting that the billionaire “shouldn’t be sacrificed or have to suffer because he wants to help the government.”

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones joins the fight for Elon Musk

As controversy swirls around Elon Musk and his recent business struggles, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has thrown his weight behind the billionaire.

In an attempt to rally support, Jones announced that he had purchased a custom Cybertruck to give away to one of his online store customers next month. The move comes amid growing scrutiny of Musk’s companies, particularly Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), which have been facing significant challenges.

But Jones’ flashy Cybertruck giveaway is just one piece of a much larger, more chaotic puzzle.

Beyond Tesla’s plummeting stock value, Musk is contending with a massive cyberattack targeting X, as well as ongoing issues with SpaceX’s Starship rocket program. Each setback raises more questions about his leadership and whether his ventures can maintain their dominance in their respective industries.

Presidents rarely get behind the wheel due to security protocols, but Trump’s unexpected Tesla purchase and the unusual press conference that followed, points to a larger issue.

Anonymous sparks online debate after alleging Elon Musk's breakdown caused Trump’s Tesla stunt

Some users found humor with one quipping, “Are we sure it was just sobbing?”

Another joked, “It was giving ‘dad took son out for an ice cream cone because kids made fun of him at school.’”

Others expressed confusion over Musk’s alleged emotional state, with one commenter writing, “Why does he cry where others can find him or hear him? I’ve heard crying stories so many times, I’m wondering if that’s just what he does daily.”

Another wrote, "Well this is very disappointing. We aren’t doing enough to make Elmo cry harder."

One person noted, “His wealth is disappearing right before his eyes. Maybe he should get out while he still has some left.”

Another commented, "Out of respect for his wishes, I can't extend empathy towards him."
