WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell is “exhausted” from covering the first hundred days of Donald Trump’s presidency after taking the Office for the second time on January 20.

On Wednesday, March 12, the 73-year-old host of the show ‘The Last Word' admitted that he is “exhausted at day 52” of Trump’s presidency and wants to take a week off to get rejuvenated.

The Emmy-winning journalist told his MSNBC colleague, Rachel Maddow that before he “drifts away” from exhaustion, he wants to take some days off, as reported by New York Post.

Speaking with Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell lamented that it has only been 52 days of Donald Trump’s presidency, but he is already exhausted from covering it daily.

“I know you’ve pledged to cover and be here for the first hundred days of the Trump presidency. I hope you noticed that I did not make that same pledge,” O’Donnell shared with Maddow.

Maddow, though usually hosts her show once a week on MSNBC, has recently declared that she will be hosting her show daily for Trump’s first 100 days in office.

O’Donnell declared, “This is day 52. I thought it was day 92. It turns out it’s day 52, Rachel, and I’m exhausted at day 52, and so I’m going to take next week off.”

“And I’m telling you that now because I know you don’t like it when I just drift away,” explained the journalist, before admitting, “I’m just taking next week off, then I can come back and go with you all the way to the hundred days.”

Maddow replied that while she can’t hold this against O’Donnel, she is heartbroken nevertheless.

“We all tell each other, you have to take care of yourself. You got to pace yourself. You got to be in this for the long haul. So I can’t hold it against you, but I’m very sad,” said the 51-year-old journalist, before quipping, “Can I go with you?”

O’Donnell chimed, “No, no, no. You said 100 days, you said 100 days. You can’t. One hundred days.”

After making the announcement to Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell turned his attention to President Trump while noting that he has already completed 52 days in office.

“And so America is at this hour completing the 52nd day of having a President of the United States whose brain does not work. Donald Trump’s brain is broken, badly damaged, as he exhibits every day,” said O'Donnell before adding, “And once again, today, Donald Trump said something that would have gotten any other president rushed to the hospital for a neurological examination and an evaluation for dementia, for starters.”

“That’s where they would have begun,” he said, referring to Trump’s recent controversial comments about Sen Chuck Schumer being "a Palestinian".
