Hailey Bieber opens up about intense PMDD journey after birth of son Jack Blues
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hailey Bieber has opened up about her health issues she began to face following the birth of her first child with Justin Bieber.
The 29-year-old model gave birth to Jack Blues in August 2024, six years after their marriage.
In an interview with Beauty Inc published on October 30, Hailey reflected on her premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) diagnosis.

Hailey Bieber says she struggled with PMDD after Jack Blue's birth
As per Mayo Clinic, “PMDD is a severe, sometimes disabling extension of premenstrual syndrome [PMS]. It causes extreme mood shifts that can disrupt daily life and damage relationships.”
The Rhode founder told the publication, “After I had my son, I struggled with [PMDD] a bit, and there’s just not a lot of conversation or research around it. Conversation, for me personally, makes me feel less alone.”
“When we can identify with each other and have conversations relating to each other and talking about the things we’re dealing with and struggling with, I do think it makes it feel like less of a lonely journey,” she stated.
Hailey Bieber talks about 'a really intense journey' after becoming a mother
The mother-of-one even expressed her frustration with the lack of research in women's health.
The 29-year-old mentioned, "I have a sister who struggles with PMOS [Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome]. I have lots of friends that struggle with it, with endometriosis, with a lot of different, very specific women’s health issues. As a woman, I feel frustrated by the lack of research, the lack of awareness, the lack of certain conversation around it."

Hailey went on to explain that after the birth of Jack Blues, she experienced “a really intense and special journey.”
“There’s so much that happens when you are pregnant, during childbirth. There’s so many things that happen leading up to having a child,” the socialite added.
Hailey Bieber opened up about having 'swirling thoughts' because of PMDD
This was, however, not the first time Hailey talked about PMDD. Earlier this year on the ‘SHE MD’ podcast, she revealed that she was diagnosed six months after Jack Blues' birth.
She shared, “I was like, ‘This just feels way more intense than before,’ like the lead-up to getting your period. You’re like, ‘Why does it feel like my whole entire life is gonna end? Like, I don’t understand.’ You just have all these swirling thoughts and feelings, and just everything feels like the biggest deal in the world.”
Apart from Hailey, influencer Dixie D’Amelio, ‘Riverdale’ alum Lili Reinhart, and singer Zara Larsson have also talked about their PMDD diagnosis.
D’Amelio had reportedly said, “People are going to be like, ‘Oh my God, everybody gets that.’ Like, no. I didn’t know that you weren’t supposed to want to die every month before you got your period. It’s not supposed to affect every single aspect in your life from sleep to anxiety.”
