KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN: Vice President Kamala Harris and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer were caught in a hot mic moment amid the Democratic nominee's campaign stop on Saturday, October 26.

The two were enjoying a beer at Trak Houz Bar & Grill in Kalamazoo, Michigan, when Harris shared her concern with support among male voters, apparently unaware of the microphones surrounding her, according to the Daily Mail,

Once she realized that her words were recorded, she quickly dropped the conversation and cracked a joke about the incident.

What was Kamala Harris caught saying to Gretchen Whitmer?

Kamala Harris was heard telling Gretchen Whitmer in a low voice, "We need to move ground among men."

As the latter acknowledged, the vice president suddenly noticed the microphones above her head and said, "Oh, we have microphones and they're listening in to everything."

"I did not realize that," remarked Harris, gesturing to the mics. "Oh, okay," laughed Whitmer, before jokingly adding, "You'll bleep my F-words hopefully."

Harris joined her, quipping, "We just told all the family secrets, s**t." The two then attempted to laugh it off.

Polls show gender divide in support for Kamala Harris and Donald Trump

A recent poll by USA Today/Suffolk University which showed Harris leading Trump 53 percent to 36 percent among women, found the results inversed among men, with the vice president trailing 37 percent to 53 percent.

Another poll by Quinnipiac University showed Harris enjoying the support of 57 percent of women and 40 percent of men in Michigan. In the case of Trump, the respective percentages stood at 37 and 56.

Internet calls Kamala Harris a 'lost cause' over hot mic moment

Netizens trolled Kamala Harris on social media platforms over the hot mic incident, with some going as far as to claim that the moment was staged.

One wrote, "Kamala absurdly pretends to have a hot mic moment. She is so fake that she can’t even have real hot mic moments," and another said, "That’s not a hot mic. That’s a staged appearance meant to look like a candid moment."

"She's a hot mess on a hot mic," quipped a person, while someone else added, "It’s a lost cause, Kamala."

An individual mocked, "You literally have 8 days left and just now figured to appeal to male voters," and one more remarked, "She knew the mics were there, she's tanking her own campaign by being a dumb a**. Lol."
