WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris offered an unexpected analogy to explain Donald Trump’s frequent criticisms of major cities with large Black populations, such as Detroit, Chicago, and Washington, DC.

The remarks during a recent interview with commentator Roland Martin which was released on Monday, October 14 saw Harris liken Trump's actions to constellations in the night sky, suggesting that his focus on these cities was not coincidental, but rather racially motivated.

Kamala Harris' criticism of Donald Trump

Explaining her constellation analogy, Kamala Harris said, “I talked with somebody once who said, ‘You know, if you just look at where the stars are in the sky, don’t look at them as just random things.’”

“‘If you just look at them as points, look at the constellation—what does it show you?’” she added, according to Daily Mail.

She then used this analogy to assert that Trump’s attacks on predominantly Black cities were deliberate, noting, “You just outlined it, Roland. What does it show you? That the cities that he picks on in terms of Black population or Black mayor or both. C’mon.”

Donald Trump’s continued criticism of major cities

Kamala Harris' comments come in response to a series of remarks made by Donald Trump, who has often criticized cities with significant Black populations and Democratic leadership.

During a recent speech to the Detroit Economic Club, Trump singled out the city of Detroit, suggesting it was poorly run and warning that the entire country could face similar issues if Harris were to become president.

“The whole country is going to be like, you want to know the truth? It’ll be like Detroit,” Trump said to the group of business leaders and executives.

“Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president. You’re going to have a mess on your hands,” said the 78-year-old politician.

Trump has previously criticized Milwaukee, Wisconsin, calling it a “horrible city” just days before the Republican National Convention was held there from July 15 to July 18, 2024.

Chicago has also been a frequent subject of Trump’s attacks, with the Republican presidential nominee often pointing to the city’s crime rates as evidence of failed leadership.

Internet mocks Kamala Harris' constellation analogy

After Kamala Harris' explanation about constellations to draw comparison with Trump's actions, netizens mocked the vice president's bizarre explanation.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "She’s always struggled with clear communication. It makes it hard to take her seriously as a candidate," and another penned, "You can tell she thinks she’s smart for having figured out that the stars aren’t just 'random points.'"

"Every time I force myself to watch something with her speaking, I literally lose brain cells!" a netizen commented, while someone else remarked, "Elon needs to hire this genius when she loses. All that intellect wasted running for office."

"Kamala attempts discussing stars and constellations, ends up delivering the worst word salad in human history. This is a major party presidential nominee, folks." an individual opined, and another remarked, "Every time I hear Kamala speak, I start to believe a little more that she is actually brain damaged."
