Hulk Hogan to Kid Rock: 8 celebs who attended Republican National Convention
The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee concluded on July 18, declaring former President Donald Trump as the GOP presidential nominee and Ohio Sen JD Vance as the vice presidential nominee. The four-day event kickstarted just days after an attempted assassination on Trump. It was not only attended by politicians but also prominent personalities from the entertainment field supporting the real estate mogul. Here are eight celebrities who made an appearance at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
1. Kid Rock
Singer and rapper Kid Rock performed his 2000s hit 'American Bad A**' for the crowd at RNC on July 18. The audience joined him, chanting "Trump! Trump! Trump!" as he changed the lyrics in support of Trump ahead of the November election. Before leaving the stage, he gave a shoutout to the former president, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the most patriotic, bad*** on earth, President Donald J Trump."
2. Dana White
Appearing on the RNC floor on its final day, UFC President Dana White gave his energetic endorsement to Trump. Taking the stage with a majority of the Trump family as the audience, he said, "Nobody tells me what to say, and I'm nobody's puppet." He further asserted, "I'm in the tough guy business. And this guy's the toughest, most resilient guy I've ever met in my life," referring to the MAGA spearhead. White and Trump's relationship goes long back, and the latter made his first appearance after the New York hush money conviction at a UFC fight, signaling the depth of their friendship.
3. Savannah Chrisley
Former reality television star Savannah Chrisley appeared at the Republican National Convention on July 16 and delivered a speech blasting the Department of Justice. She described the DOJ as "broken," recounting how her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were put behind bars. "You may have seen my family on TV, but for the past decade, we've been consumed with a different kind of drama," she told Trump supporters at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. "My family was persecuted by rogue prosecutors in Fulton County due to our public profile."
4. Jason Aldean
Country music singer Jason Aldean attended the last day of RNC with his wife, Brittany Aldean. He came in a casual gray t-shirt and white cap as he met with Trump. The former president also thanked Jason for his support during his speech. "And Jason, the biggest star in country music. Jason, thank you for being here. Jason thank you very much. Jason Aldean, he's good," the ex-president said. Trump then added he liked his wife, Brittany, better.
5. Lee Greenwood
Singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood also made an appearance at the RNC on day one, at Trump's request. His song 'God Bless the U.S.A.' has been a fanfare since the former president rose to the leadership of the Republican Party. "We were not supposed to be here on Monday. After the assassination attempt, Trump changed his demeanor," the singer told Nexstar media. "That's why [the first night] was so powerful and emotional because he made the appearance, his favorite singer was here to sing for him, and I did the song that everyone knows I was going to sing."
6. Amber Rose
Rapper and influencer Amber Rose spoke on the first day of the Republican National Convention, announcing her endorsement of Trump. Rose, who was not a supporter of the real estate mogul, explained her political journey that shifted her stance. The rapper said she had to "let go of [her] fear" of judgment for backing Trump after initially believing he was a racist. "I realize Donald Trump and his supporters don't care if you're Black, White, gay or straight, it's all love. And that's when it hit me, these are my people. This is where I belong," Rose said.
7. Hulk Hogan
Former WWE star Hulk Hogan displayed his support for Trump on July 18, the last day of RNC. Showing off his toned and muscular body, he tore off his shirt to reveal a vest featuring Trump and Vance's names. "I didn't come here as Hulk Hogan," the ex-WWE star, whose actual name is Terry Bollea, said. "But I just want to give you a taste. I'm here tonight because I want the world to know that Donald Trump is a real hero. Somebody took a shot at my hero, and they tried to kill the next president of the United States," he added, referring to the assassination attempt on the former president.
8. Russell Brand
British actor and comedian Russell Brand stepped onto the RNC floor on July 18 wearing a low-cut black shirt, a pair of dark sunglasses, and a crucifix chain. The once left-wing inclined comedian who used to make fun of the Republican Party declared his shift of ideology by rubbing shoulders with the GOP allies in Milwaukee. He also did his Rumble show live from Media Row at the convention.
