Harrison Butker announces birth of third child with wife Isabelle
ATCHISON, KANSAS: Harrison Butker, kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, and his wife Isabelle Butker are celebrating a new addition to their family.
The 29-year-old NFL star revealed the exciting news during an interview on 'The Ingraham Angle' on October 10, as per US Weekly.
Harrison Butker and wife Isabelle welcome their third child, keep details private
While the couple has kept the baby's birth details—including the name, birthday, and gender—private, Butker confirmed, “We have three children.”
The Butkers are already parents to their 5-year-old son named James Augustine Butker, born in January 2019, and a daughter whose name has not been revealed.
Butker’s announcement comes on the heels of controversy following a graduation speech he gave in May at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.
During the speech, the two-time Super Bowl champion took a stand on several issues, criticizing LGBTQIA+ rights, slamming IVF as a family planning method, and claiming that women are being fed “diabolical lies” about the necessity of working outside the home.

Reflecting on the backlash his speech received, Butker expressed disappointment in his recent Fox News interview, stating, “I was talking to a specific crowd, that I think was able to understand what I was trying to say.”
His remarks at the graduation ceremony included heartfelt praise for his wife, who he says is integral to his success both on and off the field.

His controversial advice?
Get married. Start a family.
This one didn't get as much attention.

“It cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the [Catholic] faith and become my wife and embrace one of the most important titles of all — homemaker,” he shared during his speech.
Harrison and Isabelle met in middle school band class and began dating in high school. Harrison proposed in May 2017, shortly after joining the NFL. The couple married on April 5, 2018, in a Catholic church.
Harrison Butker faces backlash from high-profile figures over graduation speech
On the other hand, his views did not sit well with everyone. High-profile figures like Maria Shriver, Serena Williams, Maren Morris, Hoda Kotb, and Jenna Bush Hager were among those who voiced criticism.
Butker’s Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce commented on the situation in a May episode of his 'New Heights' podcast.
While Kelce expressed disagreement with Butker's stance, he emphasized his support for him as a teammate, saying, “I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids, and I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life. That’s just not who I am.”
Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, shared similar thoughts, acknowledging the differences in opinion: “There’s always going to be opinions that everybody shares that you’re going to disagree with. And make no mistake about it, a lot of the things he said in his commencement speech are not things that I align myself with.”
Harrison Butker stands by family values
In his most recent interview with Fox News, Harrison Butker further explained his views, emphasizing the importance of family in his life.
I've seen some terrible takes on Harrison Butker's speech at Benedictine College, mostly from women, which is extremely disappointing. Feminist adjacent conservatives are the worst.

It's clear how much he loves, respects, and is devoted to his wife.

“How beautiful it is for women to maybe just step aside and prioritize their family and spend time with their children and raise their family,” he said. “And that’s what I was just trying to speak love about.”
However, during the speech, Butker praised his wife, Isabelle, noting "she would be the first to say her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother," as per CNN.
His remarks sparked controversy, as evidenced by the flood of critical comments on his Instagram and discussions on X and TikTok.
