Hayden Panettiere’s parents clash over jewelry she was wearing at the time of her death

GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA: Hayden Panettiere’s parents, Lesley Vogel and Skip Panettiere, are reportedly clashing over jewelry the actress was wearing when she died at 36, with a Greenville County coroner’s report stating that the earrings were removed during her autopsy and placed into evidence for safekeeping.

The disagreement came as Panettiere’s loved ones gathered in Malibu to celebrate her life at a memorial service about a month after her death.

According to the Greenville County coroner’s report, Panettiere was wearing “stud type earrings” when she died, and they were removed from her body during her autopsy examination.

“This Senior Deputy contacted [redacted] and [redacted] to inform them that the autopsy has been completed and results are pending at this time,” the report stated, adding, “Both parties were informed of personal property that was removed from the decedent during autopsy, which was logged into the property and evidence section of this report,” it added.

“The property was placed in the Senior Deputy’s locker for safe keeping on this same date.”

The report stated that one of Panettiere’s parents wanted the earrings mailed to them in North Carolina, while the other wanted them sent to their address in California.

“Both parties were informed that until they could reach an agreement regarding the decedent’s personal effects that they would not be released,” the report stated. The document also said Panettiere’s parents were “informed” that her body was ready to be released to a mortuary or funeral home of their choice.

Panettiere died on August 16 after she was found unresponsive by her boyfriend Brian Hickerson’s brother, Zach Hickerson, at a Greenville, South Carolina, Airbnb. She was 36. Per the coroner’s report, she died due to substance abuse and her death was ruled accidental.

Panettiere’s loved ones gathered in Malibu, California, this past weekend to celebrate her life at a memorial one month after her death. The service was attended by her ‘Nashville’ co-star Connie Britton, Evan Ross, Paris Hilton, Ruby Rose and many more.

Britton appeared somber as she approached the church venue and reportedly made a speech. Her and Panettiere’s fellow ‘Nashville’ castmate Charles Esten also spoke and reportedly performed Panettiere’s song 'Free' from the show with 11-year-old Isabella D’Amore.

Other ‘Nashville’ alums included Lennon Stella and Jonathan Jackson. Doves were released outside the church before the ceremony. TMZ heard from a source that the memorial was “emotional and beautiful.” A hula dance performance by Ka’ala Clarke was also held as a tribute to Panettiere’s love for Hawaii.

The memorial was organized by her family, including father Skip Panettiere, and about 150 people attended. An insider told TMZ that Panettiere loved the ocean and whales, making a coastal location important to her loved ones.

Panettiere’s ex-fiance, Wladimir Klitschko, and their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, were not seen at the event. One day after Panettiere’s death, Klitschko took to Facebook to mourn his ex.
