Internet blasts Tom Cruise after his daughter Suri makes vital change in her name following years of estrangement

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri reportedly does not want her name connected with her famous father after allegedly having no relationship with him for years.

As reported by Hello!, the teenager, who turned 18 in April of this year, listed her name as Suri Noelle instead of her birth certificate name, Suri Cruise, in the casting sheet of the musical ‘Head Over Hills’.

She played Philoclea in the New York theater production.

Noelle is Suri’s mother Katie Holmes’ middle name. The duo reportedly share a close bond.

In 2022, Katie said about her daughter, “I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it.”

Suri is believed to be as talented as her parents and at the age of 15, she reportedly sang the opening credits of the movie, ‘Alone Together', in which Katie starred.

The ‘First Daughter’ star revealed, “I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her. She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it.”

“I let her do her thing. That's the way I direct, in general,” she added.

Katie and the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star got married in 2006.

But they went their separate ways in 2012 as Tom disclosed that the 45–year–old actress took the decision "to protect Suri from Scientology.”

At the time, the duo via a statement said, “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests”

“We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents,” they added.

Meanwhile, people have supported Suri while thrashing her father.

A Facebook user wrote, “I don't blame her at all, he abandoned her. I would do the same thing.”

Another user shared, “Good well done Suri, you deserve the best🙏🏼 scary that his priority is Scientology over his beautiful daughter, very sad, I always liked Tom up until the time he disowned you & your wonderful Mum.”

One user said, “Good for her! He cares more about Scientology.”

“Scientology is more important to him than his own child,” another remarked.
