'He got a kick out of It': Dolly Parton jokes her husband was 'jealous' of her Cowboys cheerleader costume
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dolly Parton, who is married to Carl Thomas Dean since 1966, recently shared that her husband “got a kick out of” her viral Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit.
Just days after her latest album ‘Rockstar’ was released in November 2023, the 78-year-old Parton performed at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game.
For the occasion, Parton dressed in a pair of white shorts paired with a blue crop top and a white vest. The outfit, quite naturally, became immensely popular as fans hailed the ‘Jolene’ singer for her impeccable grace and style.
However, her outfit not only floored her fans but also her husband who she claimed was a little too “jealous” of her look.

When asked about her husband’s reaction to her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit, the country songstress shared, “It turned out pretty cool and my husband liked it.”
She recalled laughingly, “He said, ‘Those shorts were a little too short.’ I said, ‘Jealous?’”
“And I said, ‘They weren't as short as the other girls!’ He was just being funny,” continued Parton.
The ‘Coat of Many Colors’ singer further added, “I think he thought — because everybody's making a to-do over it — he thought, well, maybe you shouldn't be showing your butt at that age. But anyway, he got a kick out of it too," she adds.

Parton, who celebrated her 78th birthday last week, shared that she received a thoughtful yet romantic gift from her husband.
She shared, “It was a glass heart of Carl and I when we were younger, and it was carved into the glass inside.”
She went on to describe, “You put it on a little light or a little podium and then it has a battery, and you can turn it on," before adding, "We go around and around and around. I think those very personal gifts like that are always so sweet.”
During the same interview, she also opened up about spending quality time with her husband as she shared, “My husband and I like to travel around in our little RV, our little camper, and just go out and have a picnic by the river.”
“I love to go back home to East Tennessee, visit friends and family, and I love to read,” shared the ‘9 to 5’ singer.
She also said, “I'm an avid reader, so any great book that I get my hands on, I like to do that. I'd rather read than watch TV.”
