LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dolly Parton, who is turning 78 next month, has always been vocal about her experiences of going under the knife. However, there are certain procedures that she regrets.

In a recent interview with Saga Magazine, the ‘Jolene’ singer candidly shared, “If something is bagging, sagging or dragging, I’ll tuck it, suck it or pluck it.”

While the ‘9 to 5’ singer does not shy away from tweaking her appearances, she does regret taking a few procedures to the extreme level.

She explained, “Every now and then you’ll get a hematoma, or sometimes with fillers and Botox you can get too much and have to wait till the swelling goes down to look normal again.”

Parton gave the reason that some procedures may impede the process of getting back to work, as the healing process may take longer. “It means that instead of being back at work in two weeks, it’s a month,” said the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ singer.

Dolly Parton advises people to ‘find the best doctors’

Of late, the songstress has been speaking about the risks of plastic surgery. Previously, she has had multiple surgeries including facelifts, breast implants, and botox.

She feels finding the “best doctors” is the key to success when it comes to plastic surgery. Appearing on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ on November 15, ahead of the release of her album 'Rockstar', she cautioned her fans as well to “be very careful not to overdo it.”

Parton said, "You've just got to be very careful not to overdo it because you never know. Anytime you go under the knife, you could come out looking not good.”

She added, "You just never know how you’re going to heal," before continuing, "You never know what's going to go. So you absolutely need to find the best doctors, the most talked about doctors or the ones highly recommended if you're going to do anything [to] your face.”

Opening up about the dangers of a botched surgery, Parton said, "You can cover up stuff if somebody screws up things on your body but, boy, if you live with your face out there, you've got to be careful.”

She further added that she always tries to focus on one thing at a time, stressing, "So I try to do just little bits at a time. I don't do really big stuff."

She admitted, “I do fillers, Botox, Juvederm,” while noting that too only when she has “to do something a little more.”

Parton added, “Even then, I try to be careful.”

Dolly Parton once said she looks 'so totally artificial'

Parton has her reasons also for being so candid about her cosmetic surgeries. During an appearance at Larry King Live on July 3, 2003, Parton explained, “I don’t want to lie about it, so I’ve got to — I think sometimes it might help,” before adding, “You know, it’s not like — I mean, I look so totally artificial, you know, but I hopefully am totally real.”

In that interview as well, she stated, “I always say if I see something sagging, dragging or bagging, I'm gonna have it sucked, tucked or plucked.”

Almost halfway through the interview, when Larry King asked her what she had done, she admitted to having gotten a facelift, using Botox, having had liposuction, and excess skin removal among other procedures.

She admitted that she “looks at herself like a show dog,” as she explained that the procedures don't scare her. She said about herself, “I gotta keep her clipped and trimmed and in good shape.

Even two decades ago, she had the same philosophy of doing the just "bits and pieces," saying, “I just — I actually do it in little bits and pieces, because I don’t want to do a whole big drastic thing.”

She explained, “I’ve never had, like, just the whole big thing done because I don’t want to look like, you know, tighter than a banjo head.”

Her words remained the same even 20 years ago as she said, “I try to pick the best doctors, and I don't do it that often.”
