'He sleeps through his meetings’: Ossoff contrasts Lincoln sailors’ record deployment with Trump
WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Jon Ossoff recently honored the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln, praising their dedication during a deployment that has now broken Navy records. The sailors have been at sea for more than 240 consecutive days without a port stop.
Ossoff drew a hard line between their commitment and what he called President Donald Trump’s neglect of presidential responsibilities.
He said these sailors deserve leaders who send them to war with a clear mission, not, in his words, “fools" who mislead them about the reality of combat. The Abraham Lincoln continues to operate in the Middle East, amid the confrontation with Iran.
Jon Ossoff praises USS Abraham Lincoln crew, targets Trump
Ossoff opened his remarks with a tribute to the sailors, Marines and aviators aboard the Lincoln, acknowledging the extended hardship of their deployment while drawing a deliberate contrast with the president.
Ossoff: Aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, they've now been at sea for 240-plus days without a port call. It’s a Navy record. And still they serve with excellence. God bless the sailors, Marines, aviators, and all aboard the United States Ship Abraham Lincoln.

He acknowledged the demands placed on the crew while drawing a line about what he said those sailors were owed in return from their political leaders.
See, they don't expect luxury. They'll endure hardship.”
“But they deserve competent leaders who send them into combat only when necessary and with decisive clarity of purpose, not fools who lie about the purpose and progress of war.”

Jon Ossoff contrasts Lincoln deployment with Trump schedule
Having established the Lincoln's record, Ossoff shifted directly to Trump, delivering what became one of his most pointed public attacks on the president.
“And while the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks.”
He doesn't want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace, gifted by the emir of Qatar."

Boeing 747 given to the Trump administration by Qatar’s royal family did not have the usual defense systems found on Air Force One.
The issue received further attention after reports emerged that Iran had obtained intelligence about the president’s flight path during a recent trip abroad.
In the same speech, Ossoff also addressed the administration’s economic record and the Epstein files controversy. He accused the administration of driving up costs for everyday Americans while Trump’s family grew richer.
"They made you pay more for everything and took us to war on lies and spent most of last year trying to cover up for the world's most famous p*******e. While the crook president and his crook family raked in billions."
Ossoff is running for reelection in Georgia in November against Republican challenger Rep Mike Collins, in one of the most closely watched Senate races of the 2026 cycle.
