WASHINGTON, DC: A longstanding supporter of Donald Trump, Steve Bannon promised at a conservative gathering on Saturday, June 15, that Inauguration Day in 2025 will be 'accountability day' and that those who have probed Trump and his political associates will face investigations and charges, according to CNN.

Notably, hours before Trump was due to speak, Bannon informed a gathering at Turning Point Action's 'The People's Convention' in Detroit—citing the former president's recent conviction in New York—that his associates would 'get every single receipt'.

Bannon said, "You are going to be investigated, prosecuted and incarcerated. This has nothing to do with retribution. It has nothing to do with revenge. Because retribution and revenge might be another order of magnitude. This has to do with justice."

Bannon was alluding to earlier remarks made by Trump in which he declared that his followers will receive 'retribution' and that 'sometimes revenge can be justified'.

Notably, Trump has consistently eschewed pleasant interview chances, such as many exchanges with Fox News presenter and friend Sean Hannity, to temper his tone, retreat from threats of revenge against his political rivals, and drop his criminal charges.

Earlier in June, Trump told Hannity, "Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it would be easy because it’s Joe Biden."

Moreover, some Trump supporters have played down the former president's remarks, including Kellyanne Conway, a former campaign manager and seasoned member of both the Trump White House and the 2016 campaign.

Notably, Conway said earlier in June that despite the cries of 'Lock her up!' during 2016 campaign rallies, Trump's Justice Department did not attempt to prosecute Hillary Clinton.

The fiery address from Bannon is delivered two weeks before his scheduled report to jail. After neglecting to submit records and testimony to the House select committee looking into the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, he was found guilty of contempt of Congress in 2022.

Notably, a federal court earlier in June mandated that he go to jail by July 1 after giving him a four-month prison term.
