WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative political commentator and former talk show host Tucker Carlson recently explicitly stated that he opposes the idea of Donald Trump choosing Nikki Haley as his vice president for the 2024 election campaign.

During a 'Timcast IRL' podcast conversation with Tim Pool, the former Fox News host expressed, "I would not only refrain from voting for that ticket, but I would also actively advocate against it as strongly as I could."

This response came when Pool inquired whether Carlson would vote for Trump if he selected Haley as the vice president.

According to the latest polls by FiveThirtyEight, Haley is trailing at third position among the GOP presidential candidates behind Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the ex-POTUS continues to dominate the opinion surveys despite his lighter campaign schedule.

Previously, Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr, also opposed the idea of Haley serving as the vice president if his father is reelected to office.

Tucker Carlson shares his stance on Donald Trump choosing Nikki Haley as his vice president

Stating Trump choosing Haley for VP is "poison," Carlson listed his reasoning for strongly opposing the former South Carolina Governor, saying, "I mean, here's someone who is actively opposed to the interest of the country I grew up in."

He continued, "Who endorsed the BLM riots, and who is not left but is neoliberal in the darkest, most nihilistic way and has no real popular supporters and is a creature of the oligarchs. So, ya, that would be reason to oppose the ticket."

Carlson emphasized that it would be a no-go, saying, "I just can't imagine a world where that could happen. That would be so crazy. Anything could happen of course, but picking Nikki Haley, who's utterly treacherous and utterly dismissed like the interests of Americans."

Internet says Donald Trump would never have chosen Nikki Haley as his running mate.

Netizens seemed to side with Carlson on his views regarding Haley and were sure that as the leading GOP presidential candidate, Trump would never choose his fellow rival as his VP.

One user noted, "Not to worry, he will never pick her. I think he has learned a hard lesson with Pence & will choose more carefully this go around," while another added, "That would show a serious lack of judgment on Trump's part if he did."

"Trump would never pick Haley," remarked a person, with someone else expressing, "I hope it doesn’t come to this! Trump has many great VP options, and Haley isn’t one of them."

A netizen expressed, "It ain’t happening so everyone can chill."
