BRADDOCK, PENNSYLVANIA: Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) confirmed on Sunday, June 9, that he and his wife Gisele were involved in a car accident that morning. However, he stated in a social media post on Monday, June 10, night that both were "great".

Earlier, reports had indicated that Fetterman was jostled and taken to the hospital after rear-ending another vehicle.

The Fettermans were near Hancock, Maryland, when their vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Impala, as reported by Fox 29 Philadelphia. Following the incident, the couple was transported to a West Virginia hospital "out of an abundance of caution", Fetterman's office stated.

Gisele Fetterman refers to incident as 'the worst anniversary ever'

At the hospital, Fetterman received treatment for a bruised shoulder. Later that day, he and his wife were discharged and have since returned to their home in Braddock, Pennsylvania.

Gisele, in a social media update on Monday, June 10, referred to the experience as "the worst anniversary ever," and expressed her displeasure with a thumbs down gesture, Daily Beast reported.

“Yeah, not great for your wedding anniversary but we’re both great, and thank you for all of you that you care,” Fetterman chimed in. He also mentioned using frozen peas and Tylenol to alleviate the pain.

The Senator's health has consistently been a topic of concern during his term, especially after a stroke in his 2022 campaign rendered him speechless for some time.

After resuming public duties post-stroke, he temporarily withdrew from his Senate responsibilities to undergo treatment for depression.

Senator John Fetterman discusses his stroke

On a recent episode of HBO's 'Real Time with Bill Maher', Fetterman mentioned his stroke, stating it provided him the "freedom" to move away from progressive policy objectives and to ignore critiques from his Democratic colleagues.

“There’s a line from the first 'Batman', Joker, he’s like, ‘I’ve already been dead once already. It’s very liberating'," Fetterman told Maher.

“That’s not reckless, that’s just freeing. It’s just freeing in a way. And I just think after beating all of that, I just really want to be able to say the things that I have to really believe in and not be afraid of if there’s any kind of blowback,” he added.

Fans send best wishes for John Fetterman and his wife

As soon as Senator John Fetterman's video surfaced on social media, fans started wishing them a speedy recovery and good health.

One said, "So glad you are ok. Thought for a minute there that they were coming for you. Heal up fast."

Another fan added, "Best wishes of for good healing! Good to hear you're ok. Rest and recover from any shock or upset!"

The third commentator wrote, "So glad to know you’re not divorced! That rumor spread some time ago. Fabulous! Congratulations & thank goodness you’re ok. Fetterman is now a rock star, deserves happiness & familial peace."

"Happy celebration to you & your wife. Unexpected difficult things often remind us of all the good things we have," a person said.

A user concluded, "Sending you both good thoughts for a speedy recovery"
