LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Heidi Klum always finds a way to surprise people with her Halloween costumes, and her 2026 look was no exception. The supermodel surprised everyone by dressing up as a giant version of her own left hand.

The costume even included details inspired by her jewellery and nails, making it a personal twist on her annual Halloween transformation. Klum arrived at her annual Halloween party in New York City on October 31 wearing the hand costume.

Heidi Klum shares the idea behind her Halloween costume

The idea came to Klum while she was looking at her own left hand. She wondered what it would look like if she could fit her entire body inside it. What started as an unusual thought soon turned into the concept for her 2026 Halloween costume.

Klum spent around six hours getting ready for the big reveal. She also shared the look on Instagram with the caption, “TALK TO THE HAND #HeidiHalloween 2026 HERE WE GO.”

The supermodel had teased her costume in September, saying it would be a look that would go well with red wine. The star appeared this year without her husband, Tom Kaulitz.

Klum made her entrance in a truck marked with red “danger” signs, accompanied by people dressed in yellow hazmat suits. Her eight-foot costume turned her into a giant version of her own left hand.

Her face appeared at the centre of the hand. The fingers featured copies of her engagement ring and wedding band, along with freshly painted nails.

Costume designer Mike Marino and his special effects team spent months bringing the idea to life. They used scans of Klum’s hand to recreate its shape and details.

Heidi Klum has made Halloween costumes an annual tradition

Klum is known for choosing costumes that completely change her appearance. Over the years, she has surprised people with several unusual transformations.

In 2015, she dressed as Jessica Rabbit, followed by a group of five lookalikes dressed as her in 2016. In 2017, she became the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s 'Thriller' music video, while in 2018, she transformed into Princess Fiona from 'Shrek'.

Her more recent costumes have been just as elaborate. In 2022, she arrived at her Halloween party dressed as a giant worm.

The following year, she turned into a peacock with the help of Cirque du Soleil performers. In 2024, she and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed as ET before she took on the role of Medusa in 2025, with Kaulitz appearing as a stone soldier.
