Following the first round of voting on Sunday, May 26 for the presidential nomination, it was reported that just six write-in votes, or 0.65% of the total delegates, were cast for Trump.

Notably, after a tiring day of elimination voting and a wild four days, the Libertarian Party selected one of its own as its presidential contender on Sunday night, as per the New York Times.

At the party's national convention in Washington, Chase Oliver, an openly gay former Democrat who forced a runoff in a Georgia US Senate seat in 2022, was chosen as the nominee after defeating nine other contenders.
