WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Thursday, October 22, shared a video of a supporter praising his character, sobriety and faith, drawing attention online.

In the remarks, she pointed to his lifelong abstinence from alcohol as evidence of his strength, while describing him as genuine, intelligent and devoted to the United States.

The remarks come as Democrats claim Trump is losing support among his MAGA base, with some of his 2024 voters expressing 'regret' over their choice.

Woman praises the man behind the president

In the clip shared on Truth Social by the president, the woman said she had no regrets about voting for him and singled out his decision never to drink alcohol as a reason she admired him.

“He's never had a drop of alcohol in his life,” she said, arguing that his ability to withstand difficult experiences without turning to alcohol demonstrated his character.

She went on to describe Trump as smart and genuine, adding that he speaks openly and has the country’s interests at heart.

Her praise extended beyond his personal habits. She called him a “true American” and said his faith, patriotism and family were central to her admiration for him.

She also described his children positively, presenting the president as someone whose private life reflects the values she believes he represents.

Trump has spoken publicly about avoiding alcohol for years, connecting the decision to the experience of his older brother, Fred Trump Jr, who struggled with alcoholism.

Trump has said his brother warned him against drinking, advice he chose to follow.

The president has also described his brother’s experience as a reason he encouraged his own children to avoid alcohol.

His abstinence has consequently become a recurring part of how he discusses his personal life.

Faith is another theme Trump has highlighted in public appearances. Following the assassination attempts against him in 2024, he spoke about feeling a stronger connection to God.

At the National Prayer Breakfast in February 2025, he reflected on that change and urged Americans to give religion a greater place in their lives.

Polls show MAGA strongly behind Trump

President Trump’s appeal among self-described MAGA Republicans has also remained strong in polling.

An Economist/YouGov survey conducted in August 2026 found that 95% of Republican respondents who identified as MAGA supporters approved of his job performance, while 4% disapproved.

That figure measures presidential approval rather than whether respondents would necessarily vote for him again, but it illustrates the strength of his standing within that group.

The latest polling has also continued to show a significant gap between Trump’s standing among MAGA loyalists and other Republicans.

An October analysis by Axios, drawing on a Fox News survey, found that 95% of Republicans who identified with the MAGA movement approved of Trump’s performance, compared with 47% of Republicans outside the group.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten had highlighted the strength of that core support in a March analysis, citing a poll in which every Republican respondent identifying as MAGA approved of Trump, with approval reaching 100% and disapproval at zero.
