CNN's Harry Enten reveals Trump has 100% MAGA approval and 90% backing for Iran strike
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: A striking set of polling numbers took center stage on CNN, where data analyst Harry Enten pointed to what he described as unwavering support for President Donald Trump within the MAGA movement, including full approval and overwhelming backing for US military action in Iran.
Analyzing the numbers on Wednesday, March 18, Enten highlighted Trump's iron grip on the MAGA base and broke down the striking numbers.
There's no break in MAGA. Trump's approval with MAGA GOP is literally 100%.

90% of MAGA GOP approve of US military action in Iran.
Those who disapprove of Trump are not MAGA at this point.

Harry Enten says Trump's hold on MAGA is absolute
Enten began by setting up just how unusual the numbers were, stressing that this wasn’t typical political support- it was something far more absolute.
He said, “You know, sometimes you look at the polling data, and there are numbers that just jump off the screen at you. And this is one of those.”
He then pointed directly to the key statistic, emphasizing it piece by piece “Because just take a look here. MAGA GOP view of Trump. Approve 100%.”
To make the point even clearer, he broke it down in simple terms: “If you are a member of MAGA and the GOP, you approve of Donald John Trump. Zero percent say that they disapprove.”
“You don't have to be a mathematical genius to know you can't go higher than that than 100%,” he continued.
Enten didn’t ignore dissent entirely but carefully separated it from the MAGA base. “Now, there are some Republicans who disapprove of Donald John Trump, but they are not members of the Make America Great Again movement.”
“The bottom line is this. If you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump,” Enten reiterated.
Harry Enten says MAGA is 'not shrinking'
The conversation then shifted to whether criticism, including from Tucker Carlson, was weakening Trump’s base. Enten dismissed that idea outright.
He instead said, “I've said it before, the theme of this segment is Tucker Carlson be darned.”
Then he addressed a common argument that MAGA loyalty might look strong only because people were leaving the movement.
“I've heard some people say, oh, you know what, when you look at those MAGA numbers, it doesn't account for those who might have left MAGA,” he said.
But according to him, the data showed the opposite. He laid out the comparison clearly: “But take a look here. Americans who identify as MAGA in November of 2024, it was 28% of Americans. Now it's basically the same. If anything, it's slightly higher at 30%.”
He reinforced the takeaway step by step: “The bottom line is this. The MAGA base within the GOP is not shrinking. It's the same size. If anything, it is slightly larger than it was back in 2024.”
He then tied it back to Trump’s dominance: “So that 100% that Donald Trump has approval among MAGA GOP, that is not an artifact of MAGA shrinking. It's just an indication of how strong Donald Trump's grip is on that MAGA base.”
Harry Enten points to 'very little split' in MAGA
Finally, Enten turned to Trump’s Iran policy, where he said support remained overwhelmingly high within the GOP.
He introduced the numbers directly: “You know, we mentioned Iran in the intro of this segment, GOP on US military action in Iran. It's 90% approval. It's 90% approval, just 5% disapproval.”
Then he clarified where opposition actually existed: “If you disapprove and you're a member of the GOP, it's your non-MAGA. You're not MAGA.”
He backed that up with more detail: “It's 36% there, 54% approved. But the majority of Republicans approve, and the majority of MAGA, which is the majority of the GOP, very much approve. 90%.”
His conclusion again emphasized unity rather than division. “Very little split in Donald Trump's base. Those who disapprove of the GOP, simply put, hate MAGA,” he concluded.
