Horror in North Carolina: Multiple people killed in shooting at Caswell County home
DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA: A deadly shooting at a home in rural North Carolina left multiple people dead Wednesday, August 5 morning, authorities said, with another victim taken to a hospital.
Deputies were called to a residence in Prospect Hill shortly before 8 a.m. and discovered the victims after arriving at the property.
Investigators are now working to determine what happened inside the home.

Deadly shooting claims multiple lives
The address at the center of the investigation is 352 Brooks Road, where a large law enforcement and emergency response was launched after the morning call.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office is leading the case, with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation brought in at the request of Sheriff Tony Durden.
Investigators have begun examining the property for evidence and speaking with potential witnesses. SBI crime scene personnel are assisting with that work.
One person found with a gunshot wound was taken to Duke University Hospital. Authorities have not provided an update on that victim’s condition.
Several others were found dead inside the residence. Officials have not released their names, ages or any information about their relationship to one another.
The circumstances that preceded the shooting remain unclear.

Authorities probe crime scene
Officials said the incident was isolated and there was no danger to the surrounding community.
Authorities have also not publicly identified a suspect or said whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the killings.
The response at the scene has involved numerous local and state agencies, including the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Prospect Hill Fire Department, Caswell County EMS and emergency management personnel.
The Person County Sheriff’s Office and Caswell County 911 are also assisting.
Investigators are expected to remain at the property as they piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
