OMAHA, NEBRASKA: Former President Joe Biden railed against his successor, President Donald Trump, in his latest speech to Nebraska Democrats on Friday, November 7, but he was treated like a lost kindergartner trying to find the school bus following his remarks.

At the Nebraska Democratic Party’s Ben Nelson Gala in Omaha, Biden kicked off by celebrating recent Democratic election wins and said the results sent a message straight to Trump and his base.

“The Democratic Party is back. That is not hyperbole,” the 82-year-old declared. “The fact is that we had a great night in Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, New York City, Georgia, Mississippi, even in Mississippi. Look, the American people are sending a message. They're sending a message, message to Trump and to his crowd.”

He added, “You work for us, Mr President! We don’t work for you! You work for us! Not just billionaires and millionaires!”

Biden also accused Trump of acting like royalty, saying, “This is a democracy and the fact of the matter is there are no kings in democracies.”

Biden's handler caught on hot mic instructing him to stay on stage

However, as the former president tried to wander off stage following the speech, a hot mic caught his handler speaking as if she were corralling a toddler.

“You’re going to stay on stage,” the handler instructed.

“I am? Oh,” Biden responded, sounding confused.

“You’re going out by the side,” she continued.

“Oh, alright,” he said.

Omaha is one of the few places in the Cornhusker State that reliably tilts left. Nebraska is one of just two states that splits its electors by district, giving Democrats a fighting chance to pick up a stray electoral vote.

In the 2024 election, then-Vice President Kamala Harris carried Omaha’s district with 54.4% of the vote, while then-Republican presidential candidate Trump secured 44.2%. However, Trump ran away with it statewide, winning 59.6%.

Biden knocks Trump over SNAP handling, White House revamp

Joe Biden also used his roughly 30-minute speech to hammer Trump over what he called the “immoral” handling of hunger and health care programs like SNAP.

“Now we have a president who is deliberately making hunger worse for Americans. Today in the United States of America, one in five children,” Biden said, abruptly raising his voice. “One in five children go to bed hungry every night. …. It is a disgrace. It's immoral. It's wrong, simply wrong.”

He touted his administration’s work to expand access to food and health care through the Affordable Care Act, contrasting it with Trump’s record.

The former president also snarked that Trump had done more than damage the White House decor.

“After Trump was elected, I knew Trump was going to take a wrecking ball to the country, but I had no idea, I have to admit, I didn’t know it was going to be an actual wrecking ball,” Biden said, referencing the demolition work at the East Wing. “It’s a perfect symbol of his presidency. Trump is taking a wrecking ball, not only to the People’s house, but to the Constitution, to the rule of law, to our very democracy.”
