NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Radio show host Howard Stern said that he hates supporters of former president and GOP nominee Donald Trump and not the man himself during the Monday, September 16 episode of 'The Howard Stern Show'.

He shared his take while discussing Trump's weekend Truth Social post where he said he hates pop star Taylor Swift after she endorsed his Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

Stern's comments come a day after the former president is said to have faced an apparent assassination attempt, reported Outkick.

A gunman was spotted outside Trump's Florida golf club armed with a scoped assault rifle. He was engaged by Secret Service agents and later arrested by law enforcement officials while driving away.

Howard Stern's comments on Donald Trump supporters

Donald Trump, who turned on Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris, had reportedly used AI generated images of the pop star back in August to drum up his support among her fans.

"This whole idea of you like me, you are good, and if you don't, you are bad … I've been the victim of this," said Stern of Trump's current stance. "I don't hate Trump. I hate the people who vote for him. I think they are stupid. I do. I have no respect for them."

The host appeared to be aware of the impending backlash and noted that if half of his viewers disagreed with his views on Trump voters, they could stop listening to his show.

"I'm at the end of my career, so f**k you and listen to another station if you don't like my views," he added.

Later on the show, when a caller compared Trump's rhetoric on immigrants to Adolf Hitler's views on Jews during the holocaust, Stern said that he "couldn't agree more."

"It is the same playbook. We have seen it before in history," warned Stern. "Hitler was perceived as a clown in Germany. He was one of these buffoonish characters. Then he won an election. And that was the end of Germany."

Conservatives slam Howard Stern as irrelevant

Netizens, especially conservatives, took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll Howard Stern over his remarks about Donald Trump voters, stating that they had stopped listening to him long back.

"Howard Stern used to be a dude who fought against the system. His entire legacy was that he was a rebel who didn’t do what they told him to. Now, he’s a little punk b***h who turned into what he used to fight against. I haven’t listened to his show in decades. I’m good," wrote a user.

"Howard Stern still has a show?" mocked another.

"Stopped listening over a decade ago. Think his wig is on too tight his brain is fried," one individual wrote.

"How can you 'hate' people that you don't know?? Howard Stern is a has been," commented another.

"He knows nobody listens to his show," wrote one person.

"He hasn’t been relevant since the 90s," said another person.

"This guy has become a total sell out loser. He's no longer relevant and his only schtick is hating Trump," claimed another.
