Hunter Biden's lawyer Abbe Lowell slammed as he vows to 'vigorously' challenge first son's gun trial conviction

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Hunter Biden's attorney has announced that the defense would be pursuing to challenge the gun conviction on Tuesday, June 11.

Hunter's attorney, Abbe Lowell said, “We are naturally disappointed by today’s verdict,” after President Joe Biden’s son was found guilty in the federal gun trial.

Hunter Biden's defense attorney Abbe Lowell says his legal team will 'pursue all the legal challenges'

In his statement, Lowell said, “We respect the jury process, and as we have done throughout this case, we will continue to vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available to Hunter," per The Hill.

“Through all he has been through in his recovery, including this trial, Hunter has felt grateful for and blessed by the love and support of his family," he added.

What are the charges against Hunter Biden?

Hunter has been convicted on three felony charges in the federal firearm trial.

The Delaware jury unanimously voted to convict the only surviving son of President Biden of one count of possessing the firearm while abusing drugs and two counts of lying on a federal form to buy a gun.

The 54-year-old faces a possible 25-year sentence and fines totaling $750,000.

Following the guilty verdict, Hunter stated, “I am more grateful today for the love and support I experienced this last week from Melissa, my family, my friends, and my community than I am disappointed by the outcome."

“Recovery is possible by the grace of God, and I am blessed to experience that gift one day at a time," he added.

President Biden has maintained a commitment to respecting the judicial process and the outcome of his son's legal battles.

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad. I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” he said.

Hunter's conviction marks the first time a sitting president's child has been criminally charged in the United States.

Reacting to Hunter's attorney vowing to challenge the gun conviction, one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "People never feel satisfied unless they agree with their narrative."



 

"'Just a coincidence' this happens right after President Trump's conviction. They have to seem 'fair' of course it's all BS," a user opined.
