WASHINGTON, DC: As an additional safety precaution, a Secret Service agent is now stationed at the bottom of the stairs leading to Air Force One, in case President Joe Biden trips or falls again.

In recent months, even the smallest aspects of Biden's routine have been scrutinized, such as his method for boarding and disembarking from his plane while making a lot of mistakes.

After a string of missteps, Biden began using the lower, shorter stairs on Air Force One's underbelly in 2023 instead of going up and down the larger, longer stairway that is customarily used to board the presidential Boeing 747.

Questions about Biden's mental fitness for office arise as his verbal slip-ups have become more frequent alongside his physical stumbling.

Despite Biden having practically no opposition while seeking the Democratic nomination, a staggering 86 percent of people in a poll conducted earlier in February believe the oldest president in American history is unfit for another term in office.

This is a reaction to Special Counsel Robert Hur's report, released this month, which highlighted the president's "poor memory" and "diminished faculties with advancing age" in discussions with Biden.

Per a New York Times report, in an extra safety measure for the president's frequent travels, a Secret Service agent now accompanies the military personnel stationed at the foot of Air Force One's steps during Biden's boarding and disembarking.

The entirety of Biden's presidency has been under close scrutiny leading up to the 2024 presidential race. Despite fracturing his foot, Biden opted not to wear an orthopedic boot, potentially leading to several stumbles and errors during his tenure.

As a result, his stride has become sluggish. Although the doctors have concluded that he is healthy, they have also noted that he still has a "stiff" stride that may worsen over time.

Biden, who was 78 years old at the time, staggered up the steps as he boarded Air Force One in March 2021. He lost his balance twice more while attempting to steady himself to climb the steps, landing on his knees before reaching the top.

The White House attributed the incident to the wind conditions that day, but Biden would later encounter similar situations. In May 2022, Biden stumbled while boarding Air Force One, although he managed to regain his balance without falling to the ground.

Internet takes a jibe at Joe Biden for keeping Secret Service agent near Air Force One

Several internet users engaged in trolling President Biden after he maintained a Secret Service agent stationed at the base of Air Force One steps to ensure he didn't stumble.

A user wrote on X, "They should carry him around in a chair like the Pope," whereas one added, "Surprised he doesn't have someone to hold his hand."

Another person said, "How's that yoke still walking, can't even speak," while one mentioned, "I also want to apply for this job."

A user also stated, "#DementiaJoe has DEMENTIA and we ALL know it! #DementiaJoe has destroyed the US!"
