WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump rejected the suggestion that he enjoys press gaggles during a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, saying his frequent interactions with reporters are aimed at “get the word out” rather than personal preference.

The exchange took place during a Thursday evening appearance on ‘Hannity,’ where the president discussed his relationship with the press and the tone of White House media coverage.

During the conversation, Trump pushed back on Hannity’s suggestion that he appeared to enjoy extended exchanges with reporters outside the White House.

“And I think you enjoy it,” Hannity said, before Trump interrupted to clarify, “It’s not that I enjoy [it].”

Hannity followed up, asking, “You don’t enjoy it? You seem like you do.”

Trump responded, “No. Every question’s a kill, you know? They are always going for the kill, every question. You see these people with the hatred.“

Trump says reporters treat press exchanges as confrontational battles

Trump described his interactions with journalists as largely adversarial, arguing that reporters often approach White House events with confrontation rather than neutral questioning.

He said the tone of questioning reflects what he views as hostility toward his administration, despite what he described as policy achievements in areas including border security, military strength and foreign affairs.

Trump says media coverage distorts administration record

Trump argued that press gaggles remain a direct way to communicate with the public, even when exchanges become contentious.

He said, “You have such hatred when you ask that question. Why? Because I have a strong border, a good military? Why do you have such hatred? The whole thing is crazy.”

He also praised Fox News as “great,” while criticizing other outlets, including The New York Times, for what he called negative framing of US policy and military developments.

Trump contrasts Fox News coverage with legacy media reporting

Throughout the interview, Trump contrasted Fox News coverage with what he described as unfair treatment from legacy media organizations and national newspapers.

He also used the discussion to comment on coverage of ongoing foreign policy issues, arguing that some outlets downplay US military progress.
