'I want you to see me partying': Jamie Foxx says he will reveal what happened to him in a comedy special
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor and comedian, said he will finally reveal the details of his mysterious health scare that landed him in the hospital last year.
He joked that he would do it humorously in a stand-up special called 'What Happened.'
Jamie Foxx’s health scare
Jamie Foxx was filming his action-comedy 'Back in Action' with Cameron Diaz in April 2023 when he suffered a “medical complication” that required hospitalization.
His daughter Corinne broke the news to his fans on Instagram, asking for prayers and privacy. For weeks, there were conflicting reports about Foxx’s condition and recovery.
Some speculated that he was blind or paralyzed while others claimed that he was replaced by a clone.
Foxx remained silent until May 3, 2023, when he posted on Instagram, thanking his fans for their support and assuring them that he was healing.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show,” he said.
Jamie Foxx jokes he will reveal all and even about the clones in his community
Nearly a year after his health scare, Foxx made jokes about the things he faced after the health scare as he was honored at the African American Film Critics Association Awards on Sunday night, March 3, 2024, for his achievements in film and television.
He also received an award for his company Foxxhole Productions at a luncheon held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, according to TMZ.
He said after he recovered everyone wanted to know “what happened” and that he would tell them in his own way in a stand-up special.
He also made fun of the clone conspiracy theories, saying that people would say that he was not the real Jamie Foxx unless they saw him with a White girl.
“Everybody wanted me to tell Jay good to see you man God bless you… and everybody wanted to know ‘what happened’,” he said.
“I’m going to tell you what happened and I got to do it in my way, I’m going to do it in a funny way. We’re going to be on stage we’re going to tell you what happened,” he added.
He continued, "It’s got all the things that happened, especially on our side of the community being cloned and all kinds of s**t."
He joked about how people "would come up with anything. They would say, ‘He’s a clone, he’s a clone, and even when they saw me out, that ain’t no goddamn Jamie, that’s a clone.’"
He continued, "I’m on the boat and [people are] like, ‘That’s a clone.’ I dove out of a car to save this black woman’s purse and I’m taking a picture, [and they’re like], ‘That ain’t no damn Jamie, that’s a clone.’ But, then they saw me with a white girl…that’s Jamie."
