"I've been through some things," shared Foxx with the audience of fellow award recipients and celebrity attendees, adding, "It's crazy; I couldn't do that six months ago. I couldn't actually walk."

He paused for a moment, appearing to be overcome with emotion, and noted, "It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now. It's different."

The 'Ray' actor mentioned, "I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it's tough when it's almost over...I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light. It was hot in that tunnel, too; I don't know where I was going.'"

Notably, Foxx attended the Critics Choice Association event just under two weeks after being sued by an unidentified woman in New York for alleged sexual assault and battery during an encounter in August 2015.
