WASHINGTON, DC: Political analyst Van Jones stated that President Joe Biden cannot afford to have a "senior moment" in the CNN presidential debate on Thursday night, June 27. "[Biden] could have a senior moment," Jones said on Thursday morning, June 27, on CNN. "It won't be forgiven," he added.

It will be Biden and Trump's first time sharing the stage since 2020 during their debate which will be hosted by CNN.

Van Jones opens up on the worst outcome for Joe Biden during debate

The worst debate result for the president, according to Jones, who has previously issued warnings that Biden is losing support among younger voters, was a serious gaffe on stage.

"People have senior moments all the time," Jones said according to Fox News. "I say dumb stuff all the time. But if [Biden] does something that's more than usual, that could be very bad for him," he added.

"Trump has problems tonight as well," Jones said, adding "Trump's in a box he's never been in before. There's no audience. So that oxygen that he gets from dropping his insults, comic stuff — there's no one that's going to be laughing at his jokes."

"He's not used to that," Jones continued. "Number two: the mic getting cut off is going to mess him up. Because he loves to run over people. That's his main thing. Won't be able to do it. Number three: he's got to pretend to be somebody he's not. He's got to pretend to be presidential," he added.

"So he's going to be playing a role he's not used to, in a format that he's not used to, with his main weapon, being a bully, being taken away from him," Jones said.

Van Jones says Republicans made a strategic mistake by lowering the debate expectations for Joe Biden

He claimed that Republicans committed a calculated error by lowering the bar for Biden in the debate. "I don't know what they're doing," Jones said, adding "They literally made it, ‘if Biden can walk out there on his own legs … if he doesn’t walk out there with a walker, then he can be president."

Van Jones says Donald Trump is a 'force of nature'

However, Jones did caution against underestimating Trump. "Donald Trump is a force of nature," Jones said, adding "Anyone that's been in a room with this guy, he's a freight train, he's a grizzly bear."

"Anybody that can stand up to that guy for an hour and a half — I couldn't stand the guy for an hour and a half — is fit to be president," he further said. "So if [Biden's] able to do it, if he's able to put some lefts and rights together for an hour and a half against this guy, it is going to be requalifying for the president," he continued.

Internet shows strong support for Donald Trump as Van Jones cautions Joe Biden before debate

Netizens firmly backed the former president following Jones' remarks concerning Joe Biden. One disappointed user wrote, "Adderall Joe will be on stage tonight, what a farce!" Another remarked, "I’m glad that all of my professional black friends who are men, are voting for Trump! They’re about money and succeeding in life. The social issues are entertaining."

"@cnn has guaranteed provided biden with something scripted. he will know all the questions and probably spent the weekend memorizing his answers to those questions. #disaster," wrote someone else. One user advised, "Analyze Biden’s eyes to see if drug use is indicated."

"Perhaps, but if @cnn carefully times their muting of the candidates' microphones they can mask any of @joebiden's 'senior moments' and perhaps make it look as if @realDonaldTrump has 'senior moments" of his own," tweeted one.
