WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden humorously dismissed the idea that he would rely on performance-enhancing substances just before the CNN presidential debate with former President Donald Trump in Atlanta.

"I don't know what they've got in these performance enhancers, but I'm feeling pretty jacked up," Biden penned on social media. "Try it yourselves, folks."

Trump raised speculation that Biden could be taking performance enhancers

In a playful move, Biden's team posted a photo of him holding a specially labeled water can featuring the 'Dark Brandon' meme. The can humorously stated "Zero Malarkey" and clarified, "Get real Jack, it's just water." Biden's campaign even made these cans available on their website as a souvenir for a $4.60 donation.

For weeks, Trump has speculated that Biden might be using drugs ahead of their 90-minute debate.

"Drug test for crooked Joe Biden? I would also immediately agree to one," Trump declared. Former White House physician and supporter Ronny Jackson echoed these demands by sending a letter to the White House doctor, calling for Biden to undergo testing.

The Biden camp dismissed these requests as "silly." Campaign spokesperson Adrienne Elrod pointed out that Trump made similar accusations against Hillary Clinton in 2016 and against Biden in 2020. Despite no evidence of Biden or Clinton using performance-enhancing substances during debates, the speculation has persisted.

Republican consultant Brett O'Donnell, who has prepped GOP candidates for decades, stated he has never encountered "miracle drugs" that transform debate performance.

He suggested that while some people use vitamin B-12 injections and bee pollen, these make little difference. O'Donnell advised Biden and Trump to rely on energy drinks for a boost.

Podcaster Joe Rogan recently proposed Biden should use "cognitive enhancers" like Adderall, testosterone, and human growth hormone.

He also suggested the president be given "NAD (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) infusions and IV vitamin infusions multiple days in a row," in the runup to the showdown, reported Daily Mail.

However, medical experts like Dr Carole Lieberman and Dr Elizabeth Landsverk warned against such stimulants due to their dangerous side effects, especially given Biden's age.

Instead, they recommended a good night's sleep and a brisk walk before the debate to get the blood flowing.

Netizens react to Biden's response to Trump's drug test demand

A social media user tweeted, "Hahahah! I love Dark Brandon trolling the haters!"

Another said, "LMAOOOO this is pathetic. Y’all are trying to play off the fact that Joe has to be loaded up on drugs in order to stand and debate? Do you people feel any shame?"

A user said, "You win the internet."

"Let’s go, Jacked up Joe!" read a tweet.

"I just spit out my coffee and I wasn’t even drinking any!" mocked a user.

"Nice played lol," added an individual.
