LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent segment on 'Fox & Friends', Sean Hannity slammed prosecutors in Donald Trump's hush money trial, accusing them of orchestrating a spectacle solely to "humiliate and embarrass" the former president.

Hannity's impassioned critique underscored what he deemed a concerning misuse of the justice system and a threat to the rights of all Americans.

Allegations against Donald Trump and criticism from Hannity

The trial, unfolding in Manhattan, has placed Trump at the center of more than 30 felony charges related to the alleged falsification of records to conceal payments made to Stormy Daniels.

These payments were purportedly aimed at concealing an alleged affair between Trump and Daniels, allegations which the former vehemently denies.

Hannity minced no words in dismissing the trial as nothing more than political theater and lambasted it as a "kangaroo court."

He argued that Daniels' testimony, which primarily revolved around her personal encounters with Trump, was irrelevant to the core issues of the case, namely the documentation and financial transactions under scrutiny.

"Daniels was there for one reason, and this should scare every American. She was there to humiliate and embarrass Donald Trump," Hannity asserted during the segment.

Daniels' appearance on the witness stand was marked by contentious moments, including warnings from Judge Juan Merchan to refrain from providing extraneous details. Hannity seized upon these instances as evidence of what he saw as the prosecution's intent to exploit the trial for sensationalism.

"Why was she in the courtroom? She was there for one reason, and this should scare every American. She was there to humiliate and embarrass Donald Trump," Hannity said.

Sean Hannity's critique

In Sean Hannity's view, the prosecution's focus on Stormy Daniels' testimony was a calculated effort to shame Trump and impede his ability to engage in political activities, particularly campaigning.

He emphasized the alleged partisan bias of the trial proceedings and warned of dire consequences for the country if such abuses of the justice system were allowed to persist unchecked.

"It’s a very scary moment for the country because we’re watching and witnessing the full and complete weaponization of our justice system. When we think of other countries and kangaroo courts, this is it!" Hannity exclaimed.

Trump's repeated breaches of a gag order imposed by the court further fueled Hannity's condemnation of the trial, with the Fox News host echoing Trump's claims of its lack of merit.

He portrayed the trial as emblematic of a broader erosion of constitutional principles, characterizing it as a gross distortion of justice fueled by political agendas.

"It’s a very scary moment for the country because we’re watching and witnessing the full and complete weaponization of our justice system," Hannity stated.

In Hannity's eyes, accepting the legitimacy of such a trial would amount to a betrayal of the foundational principles upon which the United States is built. He urged viewers to recognize the trial as a dangerous precedent and a threat to the integrity of the justice system.

"Why don’t we just take our Constitution and shred it because when we talk about weaponization of our justice system, this is it on steroids and human growth hormones," Hannity declared.
