LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fox News host Sean Hannity stirred controversy with a tweet on Wednesday, February 14, claiming, "Biden rescinded all the Trump policies that worked."

While Hannity focused on immigration policies, critics argue that his comments oversimplify a complex issue.

Hannity's critique of 'Biden border disaster'

Hannity pointed to the recent House vote to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, connecting it to what he called the "Biden border disaster." Two articles were approved, accusing Mayorkas of refusing to comply with federal immigration laws and violating public trust.

In his televised segment, Hannity criticized Mayorkas' attempt to deflect responsibility, alleging that the Biden administration falsely claimed the border was secure for three years. Hannity argued that Biden could address the issue swiftly by reinstating Trump-era policies.

"The House just voted to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his role in the Biden border disaster, the crisis he created," Hannity noted.

"Now, if the system, by the way, has been broken for so long, then we have to ask ourselves, 'Why did Joe Biden and the entire Biden administration lie to the country, all of you, for three years? How many times did they tell you that the border was secure and the border was closed?'"

Internet accuses Hannity of spreading misinformation

However, many online users took issue with Hannity's perspective, accusing him of oversimplifying the challenges at the border. Some pointed out that the immigration system's problems are deeply rooted and can't be resolved solely by reinstating previous policies.

Netizens also questioned Hannity's portrayal of Trump's policies as universally effective. Critics argued that the Trump administration faced its share of challenges and controversies in handling immigration matters, and that Hannity's assertion lacked nuance.

One user wrote, "My god. clean yourself up and knock it off. a horror show."

Another added, "You should have to pay an automatic fine made every time you lie through your teeth Sean! Maybe after while we can get up to your company’s last fine amount! It cost them almost $1 billion if you remember correctly. just saying…"

One replied, "Bummer, that's what happens when you can't get laws passed. Trump is all talk."

Another commented,  "Not really Sean but keep the lies coming."
