WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene persisted in her effort to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas after the House blocked her bid the first time.

Before the holidays, Greene repeatedly shared her remarks on social media pushing for Mayorkas’ impeachment. The congresswoman now gave further updates about the reintroduction of articles of impeachment against Mayorkas by her on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On X, Greene shared the date of the “first official impeachment hearing for Secretary Mayorkas,” along with how “proud” she is to have led the charge for the same, and the internet was quick to chime in.

Marjorie Taylor Greene shares update on process to impeach Mayorkas

Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X as she shared a few updates about her resolution to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas.

She wrote, “I’m proud to have led the charge to IMPEACH Secretary Mayorkas for months in the House of Representatives. Before the House left Washington for Christmas break, I forced a vote on my impeachment resolution that put every member on the record.”

She added, “Unfortunately, some Republicans joined every single Democrat to block the resolution and save Mayorkas’s job. I reintroduced my resolution the very next week and pulled it only once I was guaranteed we would impeach Mayorkas in January.”

“Well, I’m happy to report that the first official impeachment hearing for Secretary Mayorkas will be taking place next Wednesday!” declared Greene, throwing in the hashtag, “#ImpeachMayorkas.”

Greene also recently shared a clip of her appearance on ‘Just the News, No Noise’ with hosts John Solomon, and Amanda Head, where Greene expressed how “thrilled” she was to finally have a date when the impeachment hearing will begin, calling it “well overdue.”

The Congresswoman wrote, “Proud to have fought for months to make this happen! We'll finally begin impeachment hearings against Secretary Mayorkas on January 10th for his dereliction of duty and for inviting the invasion at our Southern border.”

“The American people deserve a secure border and it's time this lawless regime is held accountable!” concluded Greene.

Marjorie Taylor Greene faces backlash on X

After Majorie Taylor Greene shared how “proud” she was to have “fought for months” to begin the process of impeachment against Alejandro Mayorkas, the internet had a lot to say.

One user said, “You’ve done absolutely nothing & it’s embarrassing,” and another wrote, “You’ve never had a successful hearing. Sadly, you think that having more hearings will make the previous humiliations matter more.”

“All tweet, no action,” wrote one user.  A fourth person also predicted, “It still won’t pass. You’ve wasted our time. You’ve wasted our dollars. You will not serve another term.”

Greene continued to face backlash online as one user wrote, “What a waste of time,” and another added, “Waste of taxpayer money.”
