WASHINGTON DC: Donald Trump’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House took a playful turn in a moment now going viral online.

The clip shows Trump presenting Aliyev with gifts and campaign-themed souvenirs, sparking a humorous exchange between the two leaders. His firm stance on the box he loves also stood out.

The meeting apparently came after Trump hosted both Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for a peace deal signing, ending decades of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

But in this exchange, the focus shifted from diplomacy to lighthearted banter.

In the video, Trump pulled out a bright red “MAGA 2028” cap from a cupboard full of caps and merchandise and told Aliyev, “You know you are not allowed to run… Here is everyone,” while holding the hat.

He then added, “I am 28 points higher than anybody,” which seemed to refer to his approval ratings.

Without missing a beat, Trump said, “Everybody wants me to run,” prompting Aliyev to reply, “Including us,” drawing some laughter in the room. Trump then picked up another hat reading “4 more years” and invited the visiting leader and others to pick one of his merchandise items or caps as a keepsake.

“Now they’re friends, and they’re going to be friends for a long time,” Trump said after the signing, adding that if tensions rise again, “call me and I’ll straighten it out.”

Aliyev described the moment as “writing a great new history” and thanked Trump for bringing “peace” to the region. Pashinyan called the agreement “opening a chapter of peace” and credited Trump with leaving a “legacy as a statesman and the peacemaker.”
