NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Florida Governor and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis recently made an appearance on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ where he was questioned by hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough about former President Donald Trump.

The internet was unimpressed by DeSantis’ appearance on MSNBC after he failed to properly answer a question about whether or not Trump is a “threat” to democracy. However, DeSantis wasn’t the only one viewers were disappointed with.

People have taken to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and expressed their thoughts on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ for having the Florida Governor on and having a “softball interview.”

Ron DeSantis responds to questions about Donald Trump

On ‘Morning Joe’, host Joe Scarborough asked Ron DeSantis, “Can you give me any insight from what you know about Donald Trump? Why he seems to praise these communist thugs?”

To which, DeSantis responded, “Well the thing about, when you point with Xi, you know, he ran in 2016 with a very strong policy against China. He had talked about China ripping us off, he had talked about China getting away with building up the military and that was really a key thing and yet when it came time to be president, you know he didn’t take the forceful action that he did.”

DeSantis also addressed the COVID-19 period, with barely some back and forth between him and Scarborough. However, the internet criticized MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe' for asking him "softball questions".

Internet reacts to ‘Morning Joe’ interview with Ron DeSantis

After Ron DeSantis’ appearance on ‘Morning Joe,’ the internet slammed the channel and hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

One user wrote,  “Wow. What a worthless interview. Way to hold DeSantis' feet to the fire. You're embarrassing,” while another wrote, “Softball questions for DeSantis?  Really? Y'all are so disappointing...I expected better...”

“What a softball interview!” wrote one user while another said, “What a weak interview…”

People continued to weigh in on the matter as one user wrote, “Too soft on @RonDeSantis! Shame!!”

Another wrote on X, “That was the toughest question they asked and still didn't push back for an answer. After considering this interview to day I will not be tuning in to MSNBC till 7am. going forward. I just can't make room for hypocrites.”
