WASHINGTON, DC: With a resounding victory on Monday, March 4, former president Donald Trump increased his delegate total ahead of the Super Tuesday primaries. In North Dakota, Trump secured 84.6 percent of the vote, while Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, who was his lone opponent in the primary, managed to secure just 14.2 percent of the vote.

With this win, the GOP front-runner will receive all 29 of the delegates from the state that were up for grabs on Monday. For Trump to secure the GOP presidential nomination, 1,215 delegates are required. The former president has already won 273 delegates after victories in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, the US Virgin Islands, Idaho, Missouri, Michigan, and now North Dakota.

Nikki Haley got 43 delegates despite only being first in the Republican primary held in Washington, DC. Tuesday's GOP primary and caucuses in 15 states will include over 800 delegates up for grabs.

FiveThirtyEight reports that in the races for California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia, Trump leads Haley by at least 37 points. In an attempt to sweep Super Tuesday, the former president pleaded with his followers to vote.

Trump said in an interview with Right Side Broadcasting Network on Monday, "Get out to vote tomorrow … because we want to send a signal that we’re coming — this freight train’s coming. Tomorrow is the big day. They call it Super Tuesday for a reason. I think it’s going to be record-setting."

Trump's campaign staff projected in a letter made public last month that he would secure the GOP nominee by March 12, which is when the contests in Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Washington state will be held.
