WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe' co-host Mika Brzezinski recently expressed doubt about President Joe Biden continuing his 2024 election bid.

She acknowledged the growing push among prominent Democratic lawmakers to replace him on the ticket for a better chance against former president Donald Trump.

Mika Brzezinski weighs in on Joe Biden's candidacy

Brzezinski conveyed her concerns about Biden's candidacy and pointed to Nancy Pelosi’s political expertise as a significant factor in her assessment.

Brzezinski appeared to accept the possibility that Biden "may or may not be" the Democratic presidential nominee.

Her comments were influenced by the growing sentiment among some Democratic leaders, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who reportedly advised the president to step down due to his declining poll numbers.

"I trust Joe Biden’s abilities. I also trust Nancy Pelosi’s political acumen. Nobody knows politics more than her," Brzezinski remarked on the show, according to Fox News.

Nancy Pelosi's veiled push for a change in candidacy

Reports indicate that Pelosi confronted Biden about his lagging poll numbers following a poor debate performance against Trump.

CNN noted that in a private call, Pelosi told the president he couldn’t beat Trump and warned that his continued candidacy could harm Democrats' chances in the House elections. However, Biden responded with defensiveness.

"Nobody knows politics more than her. And nobody, more than Nancy Pelosi – she does not get out there without information to back it up," Brzezinski said.

"She doesn’t take risks, and she knows her politics," Brzezinski said, acknowledging Pelosi's strategic approach and grasp of political dynamics.

A Politico report mentioned that Pelosi has been actively seeking ways to "ease Biden off the ticket" since late June as she is now "convinced" that he "will lose" if he continues his campaign.

Internet reacts to Mika Brzezinski's comments on Nancy Pelosi's behind-the-scenes role

Brzezinski’s comments on Pelosi's behind-the-scenes efforts have garnered mixed reactions on the internet with people mocking it.

Some users on social media agreed with Pelosi's assessment while others voiced skepticism about her motives and reliability.

"Seems like @SpeakerPelosi might be trying to convince @Joebiden to hang up his political cleats. It's like watching your grandparents argue over who gets to drive the golf cart at the retirement community," joked one user on X.

"The confusion on the left makes the right stronger #Trump2024," another user commented, reflecting the political divide in the Democratic party and its potential impact on the upcoming election.

Additionally, skepticism about Pelosi’s trustworthiness was evident. "I wouldn't trust Pelosi to order my friggin coffee," one person quipped.

Another remarked, "Anyone that ever says 'Nancy Pelosi' and 'trust' in the same sentence should be reported for misinformation immediately."
