What did Donald Trump say about Gavin Newsom?

During the interview, Maria Bartiromo, the host of ‘Sunday Morning Futures,’ initiated the topic by reiterating Trump’s belief that he may not face President Joe Biden in the election. Bartiromo later asked Trump who he thought would be his opponent if not Biden.

Trump replied by saying that he “really [doesn’t] know,” when the host suggested the name of Newsom and asked Trump’s opinion on the hypothetical face-off.

Trump fired back saying, “I’ll tell you what … he’s so much bullshit,” per The Hill.

He continued to slam Newsom while castigating his work, “He wants to say how wonderful … it’s doing horribly. His state is doing horribly.”

He continued, “You look at the homeless problem, you look at the people that are leaving. You have companies that are leaving, they are all leaving for other locations.”

The Republican candidate further called Newsom a “horrible” governor and said he would be “easy” as “California is a disaster.” He continued, “He has been a horrible governor.”

Gavin Newsom calls Donald Trump 'unhinged'

As Newsom visited South Carolina in order to stump for Biden, the California governor sat for an interview with ABC News 'This Week' co-anchor Jonathan Karl, where he criticized Trump in strong words.

Referring to the former [resident, he said, "Here's a guy who lost the election -- Trump -- and tried to wreck the country. He's lighting democracy on fire, he's making democracy a partisan issue. I never imagined that in my lifetime."

He continued, "So the consequences are profound and pronounced," before saying that it was the reason for him to voice his support for Biden. He explained, "That's why I'm down here because this race is started."

He continued, "We need to lift up the issues, the successes, these extraordinary successes of the last three years, the Biden-Harris administration. And then we drive contrast. It's not even a complicated campaign."

Slamming the 77-year-old Republican candidate, Newsom said, "This is the weakest candidate to run a major party in my lifetime. He's coming in deeply damaged. Democrats, we win. We keep winning. We've won all of these elections, post-Dobbs different world."

Terming Trump as "weak," he added, "He is more unhinged than he's ever been. He's less disciplined than he's ever been. He's less interesting. I find him just less interesting. He's not even as entertaining as he was in 2020 and 2016."

Internet joins Donald Trump in slamming Gavin Newsom

While the majority of the social media users rallied with Trump to slam the California governor, some of them criticized the former president as well.

One of the netizens said, "Wow, seeing how he was such a horrible President, he might have more insight on these things than the rest of us."

Someone else joined Trump in his criticism of Newsom, and said, "We live here -so we know that is a fact! No question!"

"Democrats have ruined CA and NY. It is unrecognizable," blasted another social media user.
