WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Andy Biggs received the internet's nod as he raised calls for Rep Eric Swalwell to be punished by Congress for aiding Hunter Biden in defying a congressional subpoena.

The 43-year-old Swalwell, a member of the Judiciary Committee, previously admitted that he reserved the 'Senate Swamp' — a spot mere feet from the Capitol that often hosts press conferences — for Hunter and his attorneys to hold a press conference on Wednesday, December 13.

"There is absolutely zero evidence Hunter or his father acted corruptly. So I’m not going to sit quietly and let MAGA Republicans do Trump’s bidding in Congress,” the representative told Politico.

The First Son was subpoenaed for closed-door testimony by impeachment investigators Jim Jordan, Judiciary Committee chair, and James Comer, head of the Oversight Committee.

But he defied the subpoena and held a press conference at Senate Swamp, where he admitted to "mistakes" but claimed Republicans had weaponized his father's love during the height of his drug addiction.

Why Andy Biggs wants Eric Swalwell to be punished?

Swalwell’s decision to help Hunter has angered many Republicans, with Biggs saying "Nobody gets to do that. He was sent subpoenas. He was told to appear.”

"We're going to vote to hold him in contempt. We probably need to vote Eric Swalwell in contempt, because the rumor is that Mr Swalwell aided and abetted him by setting up his facilities so he could have his [press] conference across the way,” he further told Fox News.

The GOP lawmaker on the House Oversight Committee further claimed that Attorney General Merrick Garland should be forced to charge Hunter Biden if the House finds him in contempt for missing his deposition.

"He went after Steve Bannon and several others. He should go after Mr Biden as well," Biggs said, citing Bannon's contempt charge for failing to cooperate with the now-defunct Jan 6 select committee's investigation.

"We were all sitting there. We had a court reporter there, Democrats were there. Republicans were there. We were ready ... Mr Biden chose not to come,” Biggs continued.

Internet reacts to Andy Biggs’ calls against Eric Swalwell

Biggs’ calls have garnered immense social media attention, with users echoing his protest. “Control and censored,” one user said.

“Is it not an obstruction to huddle and confer with the lawyers of a subpoena target before testimony? Swalwell also did that,” a second user fumed

“Absolutely charge him with contempt and obstruction. Eric Swalwell needs to go to jail. If Rwric reserved a spot for his press conference and knew Hunter was going to defy a congressional subpoena, which her did and stood during the press conference he is guilty,” the third user slammed.

“Get the broom and sweep that dirt out,” the fourth user asserted while the fifth one wrote “Swalwell is as corrupt as the Biden family. He is a national security threat and definitely one of the biggest POS in the democrat party.”

“Absolutely. Swalwell should be thrown out of Congress. What a jerk. Did he think he would get bonus points from the corrupt Biden's for doing this?” another one stated.
