LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel didn't hold back as he responded to a recent tirade from former President Donald Trump on Wednesday, April 17.

The late-night host pointed out the inaccuracies in the Truth Social post, in which the ex-POTUS mistook him for Al Pacino, who presented the Oscar for Best Picture at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony.

"Literally everything else is not just wrong, but maybe-we-should-be-worried-about-him wrong," Kimmel quipped, likening Trump's errors to a scenario where perhaps "we should take the keys away from grandpa."

Jimmy Kimmel's witty response to Donald Trump's fixation on Oscars quip

The root of Trump's latest outburst was a joke Kimmel made at the Oscars over a month ago, which evidently struck a nerve with the former president.

At the ceremony, he had read out a Truth Social post by Trump and quipped, "Thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I’m surprised you’re still [up]. Isn’t it past your jail time?" highlighting his legal woes.

On Wednesday's show, the late-night host sarcastically thanked Trump for his fixation on the joke, saying, "The only person still talking about this joke is him. It really must’ve got to him."

Undeterred by Trump calling him the "worst host ever of the once vaunted Academy Awards," Kimmel pointed out that he has been offered to host the 2025 Oscars.

The host noted he wasn't planning to take up the gig but now he might reconsider it and suggested that Trump "can watch it on the TV in the rec room at Rikers will all the guys."
